: I've tried several times to create names with more than one of the non-alphanumerical characters (in various formats, including ''.Name.'' and both beginning and ending the name with two of the same character), and every time it gives me a message saying: "Invalid name, please try another". It may be that they've changed the rules since the player you know made/named those characters. [[User:Lightprince|Lightprince]] 03:46, 17 February 2009 (UTC) | |||

::Edit: To clarify, I was saying above that ''.Name'' (beginning the name with one of the four characters) is a valid format. That second period is just the end of the sentence, but I can see how that might be misinterpreted. --[[User:Eabrace|Eabrace]] 04:05, 17 February 2009 (UTC) |

I'm starting to think I need to start cracking the whip (in my own direction) on getting this thing ready to move out of my user space. --Eabrace 19:49, 1 August 2007 (EDT)
Naming Player Characters
A couple years back, I emailed Cryptic to find out if it was permissible to use on the servers that appeared in a novel I had written. The novel was published, so it would fall under the EULA section regarding character naming. Since I own the copyright to the story, my email asked if it was all right that I use the name because of this. They never responded to me -Blue Orchid 13:36, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
Valid Characters in Names
From the most recent revision:
There are only 4 non-alphanumerical characters allowed in a PC name: . ' - ? (period, apostrophe, hyphen, question mark). And you can only have one of those four appear only once in a name but not as the first character.
The last part of this might need some tweaking. I know a player with at least a few characters whose names take the form of .Name. --Eabrace 00:01, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
