::: The page already doesn't match the organization of other Enemy pages. They're usually organized in groups like Minions, Lieutenants, etc. This page doesn't do that at all. So I don't think it would hurt anything to move from one non-standard organization to another non-standard organization. ;) As for the Council, some of the pages are short but at least they're alongside other pages that are a lot more extensive. In this case, all of the subpages are going to have exactly three items. Quite a different scenario than the Council. Arachnos also is more similar, in that more of its pages are short, but they generally still have more than three critters, they also sometimes provided additional information at the top (which we wouldn't have here), they do still have at least one or two pages that have substantial content, and there's only a total eight subpages. Contrast that to the Praetorians, where we'd have fifteen pages each with three enemies, with no extra information to include at the top on any of them. That just seems silly to me. -- Sekoia 04:36, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
::::All good points methinks! Probably the best method then would be to organize the page as AVs/EBs first, and then breakdown the rest of the groups using the AE's naming convention to give the sections a bit more logistical sense. You are right that the 15 subpages would seem a bit... much for so little. Also, I will have to re-categorize some of those images, thanks Blondeshell! —Thirty7 01:34, 12 May 2012 (UTC)
=== Revamp / Rename? ===
I think that the current page is the way it is more due to its pre-Going Rogue format, and the desire to keep older groups like the robots or Dominatrix's followers around for valid linking on other pages. Many of the groups on this page don't exist or are changed entirely (like the robots becoming Clockwork, and I'm pretty sure Dominatrix's people were removed). Also, it seems to me several more of the enemies in :Category:Praetorians could go here. I don't recall what many of them showed up as in game, but things like the Clockwork and Seers could probably fit on this page as well, since they're what replaced the robots and Mother Mayhem's crazy people (I think).
What I'm getting at is that there really does need to be some sort of revamp to this page, to clear up which groups are historical, which are current, and which are actually "Praetorians". I would even go so far as to suggest that this page be renamed. Why? The page was named when all that existed of Praetoria was a mirror version of each signature hero and their minions. Easy to keep that all in one page. But now, the :Category:Praetorians is a much better list of what constitutes "Praetorians", and it seems to me that this page is misleading in that it establishes the AVs and some of their minions as the only "true" Praetorians.
Perhaps renaming this page to "Praetorians (Enemy Group)" would be a good idea. Link things that need to go here to this page, and then anything involving Praetorians in general, would go to the category, or the specific page as required. Felderburg 16:16, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
:FYI for future people: Per a discussion at http://www.cohtitan.com/forum/index.php/topic,9552.0.html the proposed rename has been put into effect. The Praetors and their minions are now part of the Praetorians (Enemy Group) page, while Praetorians will most likely redirect to the Praetorian disambig page. Thus, people searching "Praetorian" will be taken to a place that has links for all Praetorian NPCs, not just one subset of them that happen to have "Praetorian" over their head in-game.
:This is only for linkage and better categorization so far - this page is still in need of some cleanup and other work.Felderburg 06:41, 20 February 2014 (UTC) |

Misc. Notes
- Antimatter will escape the first time you find him during the Tina McIntyre Story Arc, once his life reaches 50% or so, hence the special power mentioned. Please note that defeating him in this mission will NOT count towards the Portal Jockey accolade, and you will need to fight him again.
- Antimatter will fight you a second time, in the same Story Arc, this time to stay. He may be dangerous due to the number of Area Effect debuffs he has, being perfectly able to inmensely debuff the whole group if you leave him do it. Once his life has dropped enough he will use his nuke, Atomic Blast, and by this point nearly everyone will be severely debuffed. He uses it with alarming frequency, and it will probably kill those who are in Melee range if they are unlucky.
- Neuron is, apparently, the easiest of Praetorian AVs. For some reason his damage output isn't very high (for an AV). Despite his powers have a -Recovery component, I never found him hard at all. He does not have huge nukes, nor tries anything strange during fights (indeed even his use of Lightning Clap seems to be very unusual, as I have seen him use it only once) As usual, results and opinions greatly depend on the character and archetype you play.
- Lightning Field will not display at all, but it is there, and the chat window will reveal it. I used the PIGG files as a source of info and added the proper icon, and I just hope everything is all right.
- Shadowhunter may be found always at the same spot, in the river near the wall, NE corner of the mission map. His armor and ability to heal himself usually means this is a rather long fight. As he's present in at least one timed mission, I advice bringing a team with a good damage output, to make things easier.
- Infernal appears to have some sort of perception buff which allows him to see through stealth. Well, he could see through my illusionist's Group Invisibility, so I'm not sure how strong his perception is.
Bobcat Has What?
Shouldn't Bobcat's power list show Elude instead of Unstoppable? --Eabrace 00:42, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
- Think Bobcat uses Unstoppable, unlike Mynx, who uses Elude, much like how Tyrant is Energy Melee while Statesman is Super Strength. Sera404 01:03, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
- Yup. I just checked. Bobcat's powers are Eviscerate, Focus, Focused Fighting, Follow Up, Resistance, Shockwave, Slash, Spin, Strike, Super Leap, Swipe, and Unstoppable. I'd say that's a pretty good guess that I had Mynx in mind at the time I wrote that. --Eabrace 06:32, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
Dominatrix has Propel
I fought her yesterday. She opened by throwing a toilet at me, and she'd littered the hallway with stuff by the time I beat her. But I'm not sure where to get the one-line power description to properly add this to the wiki. Corebreach 23:01, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
- I usually grab them from the power descriptions in the power set articles. In this case, Gravity_Control#Propel. --Eabrace 00:16, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
- By typing [Dominatrix.Propel] ingame, I get the description: "Dominatrix can open up a portal and pull in a heavy object that her (presume it's meant to be 'she', not 'her') can then levitate and propel at foes!" Sera404 00:18, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
- Is it possible to get that info for any enemy in the game, and how would I figure out what format to use? I'm trying to call up Amy Jonsson's power descriptions, but "Amy Jonsson" doesn't work as a prefix and "Amy's Ward" creates a hotlink to her summoning power no matter what power name I put after it. Corebreach 01:34, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
- With [Amy's Ward], you can get a list of the powers Amy Jonsson has at the bottom of the detailed info page (Astral Form, Healing Aura, Heal Other, Clear Mind, Adrenalin Boost, Fly, Positioning, Lightning Bolt, Snow Storm, Static Discharge, and Resistance). To bring up the details for each power individually, you could just use the base names or you could be more specific and use the following:
- [Astral Form.Astral Form]
- [White Magic.Healing Aura]
- [White Magic.Heal Other]
- [White Magic.Clear Mind]
- [White Magic.Adrenaline Boost]
- [Cabal_Maven_Lt_Movement.Fly]
- (Fly fx and Positioning should be something like [Cabal_Maven_Lt_Movement.Fly_fx] and [Cabal_Maven_Lt_Movement.Positioning], but nothing links)
- [Cabal_Maven_Lt_Defender.Lightning Bolt]
- [Cabal_Maven_Lt_Defender.Snow Storm]
- [Cabal Boss Melee.Static Discharge]
- As for where I get those names? Well, it kind of requires having the right tools and being able to find your way around in the "Files That Dare Not Be Named". --Eabrace 05:52, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Going Rogue updated Praetorian Guard powersets
When we get the new list of powers for the Praetorian Guard, should a new article called Praetorian Guard be made to display their new powers? This is, of course, if the older versions of the Praetorian Guard is kept in. Sera404 16:15, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
new Praetorian enemies
We need to do something similar to the Arachnos page and have icons to lead off the various Praetorian Clockwork, along with Seers, PPD and whatever else, I think? Sera404 23:16, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
New Models
I just updated MOST of the pics for the Praetors with images portraying the new looks that happened with GR. Notable exceptions include: Siege, Nightstar, Malaise and Tyrant. Siege and Nightstar are simply not available in AE with new looks (I guess I could use the Trainer version of Nightstar, but it didn't seem right) nor is Tyrant. With Malaise... well... I am fairly certain he will be receiving a new coat of paint soon and figured it wasn't worth the update if he will be changing soon. --Thirty7 22:21, 15 October 2011 (UTC)
Organization
Would anyone be opposed to a re-organization to focus the page a bit more on the actual AVs since they are fought far more often now than their "minions" who actually don't appear as often anymore? Perhaps something like the Council setup with subpages for each of the groups?
Something like this:
And so on...
—Thirty7 19:57, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
- In Architect, Bobcat's are called "Bobcat Followers", and I think the others all have separate names as well. Do they show as "Praetorians" when you fight them? Or are they separate groups now? If they're actually separate groups now, they should go on separate group pages. If not, I'm not sure whether it makes sense to split them out to individual subpages since each sub-group only has 3 critters. Perhaps instead it would be worthwhile to create an "Archivillains" section at the top, move all the AVs into that section, then keep all the followers in separate sections following? -- Sekoia 20:59, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
- I think they all do have seperate names in AE... but in-game I believe the all appear as "Praetorians," I just didn't bother to find out what the other names were. Perhaps that is a better way to go about it, splitting the AVs off to their own section toward the top... My only qualm there is that it doesn't match the formatting of other Enemy pages. Also, if you take a look at some of the Council and Arachnos subpages a few of those have very few entries as well. —Thirty7 23:28, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
- No thoughts on the organization of the articles, but there is a Category:Small Praetorian Contact Images that might be more appropriate for the images themselves. -- Blondeshell 03:26, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
