Question? Why can't {{tl|Issue Notice}}, {{tl|Future}} and the various specific issue templates all be rolled into one thing with a parameter? Say, <nowiki>{{</nowiki>Future|Issue=23}} for instance? Just seems odd that a new template has to be created and then deleted every issue. —[[User:Thirty7|Thirty7]] [[File:Talk-Icon.jpg|link=User talk:Thirty7]] 10:54, 10 April 2012 (UTC) | Question? : I think the primary answer is: cleanup. It's very easy to find all the articles using <nowiki>{{Issue23}}</nowiki>. It wouldn't be as easy to find all the articles using <nowiki>{{Issue Notice|23}}</nowiki> (which is exactly what <nowiki>{{Issue23}}</nowiki> transcludes). After an issue releases, it's important that we can easily go through and clean them all up. It also makes the DPL queries on [[:Category:Patch Watchlist]] much cleaner; if the templates were all rolled together, the DPL query would have to jump through a bunch of ugly hoops. -- [[User:Sekoia|Sekoia]] 11:17, 10 April 2012 (UTC) |

Template consolidation
Question? Why can't {{Issue Notice}}, {{Future}} and the various specific issue templates all be rolled into one thing with a parameter? Say, {{Future|Issue=23}} for instance? Just seems odd that a new template has to be created and then deleted every issue. —Thirty7 10:54, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
