WRT: Management Category

I deleted that category because I don't think we know for sure the command structure at Paragon Studios. When they were with Cryptic, everyone understood that Jack was lead design and part of the management team, even seeming to be calling *all* the shots. When Positron was handed the lead design, he seemed to be calling a lot of the same shots Jack did... but that was because, I believe, NCSoft's role was held off at an arm's length by Cryptic.

When NCSoft acquired CoH and set up Paragon Studios, there was no need for Production to be so separated from management. It would seem likely, and what I believed has happened, is that NCSoft had set up Paragon Studios where Production was in charge, although, they left all design decisions of the game up to Positron and the design team.

Comments from Posi over the past year where he says his 'hands are tied' with regard to information flow, marketing, and scheduling seems to show that the Lead Designer is not a co-equal manager in the *overall* production of the game. The fact that Posi has moved (laterally?) to a special project would, IMO, further indicate that. Which means, it's doubtful that War Witch's lead design role makes her 'management.'

Given that doubt, I removed that category of Management and put Brian Clayton in Production and WW in Design. It's best to remain agnostic on who's in control unless we know for sure. Zombie Man 16:34, 6 February 2010 (UTC)

Sadness

Worst case scenario: Would all staff be moved to former in the NavBox? Smilies frown.gif User:Thirty7/Sig 07:38, 5 September 2012 (UTC)

Change the header from "Paragon Studios" to "Paragon Studios Prior to Closure" ~ User:Aggelakis/Sig1 08:45, 5 September 2012 (UTC)

Pre-Paragon Devs

So I was making some cosmetic edits to this navbox, and decided to look around at other devs. There are several who are / were part of NCSoft or Cryptic, and have stub articles. I added Constellation, Fred Frickel and Geko thinking that this was a way to display every developer ever, before realizing that perhaps this navbox is only supposed to be for Paragon Studios, period - anyone else need not show up. So which is it? For example, Jane Kalmes was credited on the CoH and CoV boxes, according to her article, but did not make it as one of the surviving 15. So should she belong? Or someone like Brucer, the (former) CTO at Cryptic who was heavily involved in CoH and CoV according to his article. Felderburg 16:20, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
