| Tina Macintyre is one of the leading researchers in the growing field of dimensional portal technology. After losing most of her team into the first wild portal ever created, she has focused her energy on assisting heroes to deal with the negative side effects of the portals. | | |
| Briefing
| |
| | |
| I hope you're ready for the many challenges Portal Corporation will throw at you. Why, just last week, we had to beat off an attack of winged monkeys! Ha, ha, I'm kidding, I'm kidding! Seriously, though, it's a big, wide, multiverse, and it's not for the faint of heart. For your first mission, I'd like you to go to the dimension we've designated Epsilon Tau 27-2. We've detected a very strong psychic signal there, and we want to make sure it doesn't pose a threat.
| |
| | |
| Let me tell you a little about how this works, CharacterName. We have to erect a force field to keep part of an alternate dimension stable in relation to our own. If that field ever goes down, we could lose you in another world. Explore the selected area thoroughly, then report back.
| |

| |
| | |
| The Clockwork King? I haven't thought about him in the longest time. I guess I always heard that he had truly phenomenal psychic powers, that he could do remarkable things if he weren't limited by his insanity. It sounds like that other dimension fell totally under his dominion. You say there were no people at all? CharacterName, I wonder what happened. I wonder how long the King can survive there all by himself? With his fantastic psychic powers sustaining his brain, I guess he could spend the next millennium roaming that barren rock alone.

| === Go to the Hydra dimension and learn anything you can ===
| |
| | |
| Briefing
| |
| | |
| There's good news, CharacterName. After months of effort, some Portal Corporation techs have managed to isolate the dimension the Hydra comes from. We want you to go there and learn anything you can about the Hydra. Thanks to the efforts of Paragon City's brave heroes, the monster is relatively contained within the sewer system. But it has enormous regenerative powers, and we need to find a way to defeat it for good. If you find anything, take it to Dr. Steve Sheridan. He knows a lot about extra-dimensional species.

| I think the Hydra communicate through chemical signals. One Hydra Man secretes certain chemicals into that green plasma. Then he touches another, who can instantly 'read' his message. It's quite sophisticated, I assure you. If you'll bear with me for a moment, I believe I can develop a new plasma that will let you understand their chemical signals. | So, the Rikti have been kidnapping Hydra Men from the dimension you visited. Then they bring the creatures back to our world, to help them fight their war against us. I always assumed the Hydra Men were hostile, but maybe they're just confused. Kidnapped, uprooted, stuck on some strange new planet far from their families. No wonder they assume we're all their enemies! It's too bad Dr. Sheridan wasn't able to engineer a way for you to make yourself understood to the Hydra Men; then we could tell them we mean them no harm. But I guess it's best if we just do what they asked of us: leave them alone.

| There wasn't much you could do for that lab, CharacterName. Whoever wanted the data on the portal technology really knew right where to hit us. They have the theorem for dimensional portals now, and who knows what they intend to do with it. | Whew, CharacterName, that was a close one. Crey doesn't even know how close they came to causing a phenomenal disaster! Portal Corporation's technology is still in its infancy, you understand. It's not perfect. Oh, we do our best to minimize the risks of dimensional travel, but we're still on the edge of a new frontier. Accidents are bound to happen.

| |
| | |
| I just got word that the Malta Group has had portal technology for the last six months! They've been setting up amateur portals, very unstable, but now it looks as if they've got their system working. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised by which world they've selected: Tau Gamma 9-24. The world where Oranbega won their war against the nation of Mu. From everything I've heard, the Oranbegans on that world are a decent people. The Malta Group is this world's problem, not theirs. Will you save the Oranbegans from the Malta Group? You only have 90 minutes to deal with the situation.

- I have a buddy I'd like you to meet.
Level 40-45
You've probably heard of Madeleine Casey. Don't let her job as a television soap star fool you. When it comes to the Carnival of Shadows, she has the early dirt. She loves to work with heroes, especially ones skilled with magic. Madeleine can provide Relic and Focus Enhancements.
Madeleine really is a 'Live Wire!'
If you are looking for someone who has information on Nemesis, you should speak to Maxwell Christopher. He is a high level FBSA agent. Maxwell has access to Invention and Gadget enhancements.
Mister Christopher is a good agent, even if he is a bit gruff.
Indigo is the code name for one half of the most successful team of super spies that our government has. She has dedicated herself to bringing down the Malta Group. She usually works with mutants and can provide Focus and Genetic Alteration Enhancements.
Indigo and her partner Crimson are very different personalities, but they make a deadly team.
Janet Kellum is a brainiac FBSA agent. I have heard that she is high on Countess Crey's hit list. She likes working with science heroes, and she has access to Invention and Genetic Alteration Enhancements.
Janet won't steer you wrong. Just watch your step, because she's determined to go after the countess.
Angus McQueen is an FBI agent who the Rikti attempted to convert while he was investigating their organization. He has more information on the Rikti that no one can match... or confirm. He also has Relic, Focus, Gadget, Invention, and Genetic Alteration enhancements.
Angus was not unaffected by the Rikti, but he managed to resist a transformation that few have been able to.
Level 46-50
Unai Kemen is the Security Chief for the Portal Corporation. He is on the front line of the dimensional war. He can offer Gadget and Relic Enhancements.
The dimensional rips on Peregrine Island are increasing, Character.
Information
Portal Corporation Research Scientist
Tina Macintyre is one of the leading researchers in the growing field of dimensional portal technology. After losing most of her team into the first wild portal ever created, she has focused her energy on assisting heroes to deal with the negative side effects of the portals. Tina is equally motivated by her love of science and the guilt she carries for her part in the loss of her team.
Prior to Introduction
You should be speaking to Active Contact.
Initial Contact
I am convinced that dimensional portals will be an important part of our future, Character. I am counting on you to help me stabilize the current situation so that we can make that dream a reality.
Greeting
- Am I glad to see you, Character.
- Things are pretty chaotic, Character.
- We have to get things under control.
Too Busy
You need to finish some of the things you are already working on, Character.
No More Missions
We have made a lot of progress on the portal problem but for now you need to focus your energy elsewhere, Character.
Store
- Inspirations (Luck, Catch a Breath, Enrage)
- Level 40 Natural Single Origin Enhancements (200% base costs)
Thank you for your help, my friend. Here are some new Enhancements for you. Things here on Peregrine are tense, Character. It's important that you stay in touch.
- Inspirations (all)
- Level 45 Natural Single Origin Enhancements (200% base costs)
You are one of the few people I trust completely, Character. I want you to have the best Enhancements available.
Badge Missions
The Clockwork King's Psychic Signal (40-45)
This is usually the first mission you will receive from Tina, since it precedes the Story Arc.
- Investigate the psychic signal
Let me tell you a little about how this works, Character. We have to erect a force field to keep part of an alternate dimension stable in relation to our own. If that field ever goes down, we could lose you in another world. Explore the selected area thoroughly, then report back.
Unnecessary Solicitation
What's going on with that psychic signal, Character? What are we dealing with here?
The Psychic Clockwork King
Mission Objective(s)
You hear a familiar ticking sound. Could it be? No, surely not.
- Find source of psychic energy
You defeated the Clockwork King!
Enemies
Notable NPCs
Clockwork King dialogue
Before combat: "Nothing happens here without my knowledge! What has disturbed you, my minions?"
Combat start: "A hero! It has been so long since I saw another living soul!"
Badge
Upon completion of this mission, the Accomplishment Emancipator Badge is awarded.
You have defeated the Clockwork King in an alternate dimension where he realized his true potential.
Debriefing
The Clockwork King? I haven't thought about him in the longest time. I guess I always heard that he had truly phenomenal psychic powers, that he could do remarkable things if he weren't limited by his insanity. It sounds like that other dimension fell totally under his dominion. You say there were no people at all? Character, I wonder what happened. I wonder how long the King can survive there all by himself? With his fantastic psychic powers sustaining his brain, I guess he could spend the next millennium roaming that barren rock alone.
The Hydra Dimension (40-45)
This three-part mission is usually offered after completing the Story Arc, though sometimes, it may be offered before the Story Arc.
Badge
Stepping into the mission portal (for the first and/or third part) will award any hero with the Exploration Multidimensional Badge.
The Hydra that lives under Paragon City is rumored to be a refugee from this dimension.
Go to the Hydra's dimension and learn anything you can
Briefing
There's good news, Character.
- Go to the Hydra's dimension and learn anything you can
I'm not really sure what you'll find there, Character. From our initial probes, it looks like a pretty scary place.
Unnecessary solicitation
We still need to know more about the Hydra.
Mission Objective(s)
You look up at the green sky. Somehow, you find it strangely beautiful.
- Defeat all villains in area
After fighting the Hydra Men, you're covered in a gelatinous green goo.
Enemies
Take goo to Dr. Sheridan
Mission Objective(s)
Unnecessary solicitation
You should take that gunk over to Dr. Steven Sheridan. Maybe he can make some sense of it.
Ambush! When you zone to a different map on your way to meet Steven Sheridan, you will be ambushed by Rikti.
Briefing
Mighty interesting, Character. Mighty interesting indeed. I'll tell you one thing: these Hydra Men aren't the simple blobs of protoplasm we thought they were. In fact, I think this green goop they were covered in is actually their method of communication. Now, mind you, this is only a theory.
Communication will be only one way, but it should give you a better idea of what's going on in that world.
Pink plasma
Dr. Steven Sheridan engineered this plasma from the gelatinous substance the Hydra Men use to communicate with one another. After some time in the Hydra world, you should begin to understand their thoughts.
Defeat all villains in area
Unnecessary solicitation
Sheridan's got a pretty big brain, huh? You better get back to the Hydra dimension and see what there is to see.
Mission Objective(s)
After coating your body with Dr. Sheridan's pink plasma, you feel more than a little silly. At least there's no one here to see you but the Hydra Men.
- Defeat all villains in area
When you fought the Man O'War, Aueio, you hear his thoughts inside your head.
Enemies
Notable NPCs
Editor's Note:
One or both the above NPCs may fail to spawn for a solo player. It is possible that they only spawn for larger teams. However, mission completion is not affected.
Hydra Dialogue
Before combat:
- Spawn: Leave us!
Combat start:
- Spawn: Another intruder!
Before combat:
- Protean: This is our home! You can't take us from it!
Aueio dialogue
Before combat:
- Aueio: You have kidnapped enough of my people!
Combat start:
- Aueio: You, too, would take us from our home?
Debriefing
Story Arcs
The Anti-Matter Collision / The Instant Army (40-45)
Editor's Note:
This arc is called The Anti-Matter Collision for parts one to six; and from part seven onwards is known as The Instant Army. This seems to be by design and makes sense given the flow of events within the arc.
Souvenir
Praetorian Clockwork piece
You've kept this piece of Anti-Matter's Clockwork robot as a reminder of the time you put an end to:
The Instant Army
It began when Tina Macintyre told you that one of Portal Corporation's labs was under attack by forces from Upsilon Beta 9-6, also known as Praetorian Earth. When you arrived in the lab, you noted that Anti-Matter, the evil twin of Positron, was using his own army of Clockworks to attempt to steal the schematics for Portal Corp.'s large-scale dimensional portal generators. Big enough to move armies. Unfortunately, upon returning to Tina, you learn that other labs were not so lucky, and much tech was stolen, but thanks to you the Large scale portal tech has been kept out of Anti-Matter's grasp for now.
Tina noted some weird Dimensional Photon Shift readings remnant from Anti-Matter's theft, and has located another dimension with a similar DPS pattern. Upon arriving at dimension Rho Mu 7-2 you have your first exposure to a Fast Time dimension. You met Dr. Calvin here and he explained that the Clockwork came in and set up machines to speed up time, which has driven the citizens crazy. You are asked to go out and disable the devices so time can return to normal. Upon returning Tina explains that she needs some time to try and piece these two events together.
Dark Watcher of Vanguard has ties to the Resistance in Praetoria and passed on to Tina the location of Anti-Matter's orbital lab. Using this information, you and three Vanguard Sword Operatives infiltrate the lab and found a computer terminal. Accessing the network you acquired the knowledge that Anti-Matter has been acting alone and not under the orders of Emperor Cole in his attacks and thefts.
Anti-Matter then attempted to invade Primal Earth at Waxahachie Business Park. It was here that his Clockwork found themselves at odds with the Carnival of Shadows. The Clockwork referred to them as the Carnival of Light, a resistance group from Praetoria. After defeating the three leader Clockwork the invasion force crumbled and the surviving Carnival of Shadows members escaped.
Interested in what the Carnival's take on the invasion was, Tina had you hit the warehouse where the survivors holed up. To your surprise Vanessa DeVore, the leader of the Carnival of Shadows herself, was present. In a rare audience with her you learned that she has little to no care for what happens in Praetoria, she's more interested in Primal Earth than anything else. You took the opportunity to attempt to arrest her, but she was far too powerful for you and you found yourself waking up outside the Warehouse after she forced you to sleep.
Tina had been going over all the intelligence gathered from your first incursion into Anti-Matter's lab, and came across the name of project Anti-Matter was working on, Project: Deadline. She then asked you and several of your hero allies to make another jump to the lab to find out more about Project: Deadline. Here you uncovered the fact that Anti-Matter is using fast-time dimensions to quickly assemble his army of Clockwork in order to invade Primal Earth. It seems that he is doing this without the authorization of Emperor Cole in hopes to get back into his good graces. After fighting with Anti-Matter he teleported away mere moments before defeat, leaving you with only information as your prize this time.
Tina Macintrye figured that if Anti-Matter was using one fast-time time dimension, he might be using more. Upon scanning, she discovered that Rho Mu 7-3, the neighboring dimension to Anti-Matter's original experiment was also under an artificially accelerated time stream. She sent you to that dimension and you found out that it wasn't Anti-Matter who was accelerating the time here, it was his rival Neuron. You disabled the accelerators here and went back and reported to Tina that it was Neuron who was mimicking Anti-Matter's methods.
In order to figure out who was the mastermind behind this plan, Tina gained information from Tunnel Rat, a Praetorian Resistance member, and portaled you directly into Neuron's labs. Here you found out that Neuron had stolen the entire fast-time idea from Anti-Matter, including the plans for the accelerators and the locations of suitable dimensions. Neuron had just started his foray into the fast-time assembly of Clockwork, so it was a good thing you shut him down as fast as you did.
It seems that the politics of Praetoria had spilled out onto the streets of Paragon. Marauder, leading a team of Emperor Cole's men, came to Primal Earth looking for Anti-Matter and his Clockwork, and causing havok and mayhem in the process. You assembled a team and took down Marauder, scattering his forces back to Praetoria. Marauder now resides in the Zig, but for how long?
After three successful sneak attacks from Praetoria over the past couple days Tina wants to set up an early warning scanner in Praetoria itself. She sent you into the deep forest to establish Dimensional Scanners, but you had to get past the Devouring Earth who rule the land outside of Praetoria proper. It was going to take some time for the scanners to sync to the dimension, leaving a small window for an invasion force to slip in before the warning net is active.
And wouldn't you know it, Anti-Matter attacked at the exact right time. He infiltrated a Portal Corp. lab with his army of Clockwork, but so did Neuron. You ended up defeating both of them, but not before uncovering the fact that Anti-Matter was doing this for Jessica Duncan, aka Dominatrix. He was trying to get back into the good graces of Emperor Cole, reclaim his title as Praetor of Technology and then ask her to marry him. In the end, you captured him and Neuron and sent them to the Zig next to their buddy Marauder. Time will tell if they can be contained, or what Emperor Cole's next move will be.
Part One: Look into disturbance at a Portal Corp lab
Briefing
I've got some weird scanner activity in one of Portal Corp's labs. The techs there are not answering the intercoms and sensors show dimensional instability off the freakin' charts. Gather some hero allies and get over there A.S.A.P., I don't want to believe the scanner readings are real so I need some eyeballs on the situation.
- Look into disturbance at a Portal Corp lab
The readings on the dimensional instability show that there are portals to the dimension classified as Upsilon Beta 9-6...
Praetoria...
This could be really bad.
Unnecessary Solicitation
There is no time to waste, Character. Get over there!
Mission Objective(s)
You've grown accustomed to the smell and tinge of portal activity, but you've never felt anything like this before.
- Defeat raid leader & its crew
- 4 network nodes to secure
- Rescue technician!
- Defeat Raid Leader
You have secured the network. It looks like they were trying to steal schematics to large scale portal generators.
Editor's Note:
You can complete the mission without rescuing the technician.

Debriefing
Excellent work, Character! You saved plenty of lives today, and stopped the Praetorians from stealing the tech behind our large scale Portal generators. Unfortunately it seems that this was a very coordinated attack. I picked up on the readings tipping us off completely by accident. Other labs all throughout Peregrine were infiltrated far more stealthily, and other pieces of Portal Corporation's tech were stolen.
But that's not the half of it. Check out these Dimensional Photon Shift readings. The DPS in and around Peregrine Island is off the charts. I'm going to need some time to piece all this together. Time I am not sure we have.
DPS energy readings
Tina Macintyre informed you that the Dimensional-Photonic Shift readings are currently off the scale. She is investigating what that means exactly in terms of the current invasion.
Part Two: Check out Rho Mhu 7-2
Briefing
I'm still checking on the DPS readings, Character, but in my research I came across a report of a dimension with very similar DPS readings. Can you do me a favor and jaunt over to Rho Mu 7-2 and give me a situation report? Perhaps the Praetorians used this dimension as a test bed for whatever they have up their sleeve.
I don't know what you'll face there, Character. You'd best be prepared.
Unnecessary Solicitation
I need that data on the DPS.
Mission Objective(s)
The sun bounds across the sky in mere minutes, to be replaced by an equally fleet-footed moon.
- Investigate the DPS readings
- Find Dr. Calvin
- 5 devices to deactivate.
You stopped the temporal disturbance.

- Let me tell you what's happened!
Debriefing
Ok, so the DPS variance in that Rho Mu 7-2 was caused by Praetorian Clockwork planting temporal accelerators? I need some time to piece out exactly why the Praetorians need to accelerate time in an alternate dimension and what this has to do with the earlier thefts of Portal Corp tech.
Part Three: Scout out the lab
Briefing
The leader of the Resistance in Praetoria, Calvin Scott, just contacted Dark Watcher, who forwarded us the message. Anti-Matter has an orbital space lab that he used to stage the sneak attack the other day. Calvin Scott has given us the orbital coordinates and we think we can open a portal to Upsilon Beta 9-6 right inside that space station. We'd like you to lead a team onto this space station and uncover anything you can about a possible invasion. Dark Watcher is commiting Vanguard troops to this operation as well, they will meet you on the station.
Anything you can find out will help.
Unnecessary Solicitation
If Anti-Matter thinks he can get away with stealing Portal Corporation tech, he's got another thing coming.
Mission Objective(s)
A great energy hums through the floor plates beneath your feet. This orbital lab is state of the art. Artificial gravity and everything.
- Locate information on the invasion
You have uncovered some vital information.

Anti-Matter's files
You downloaded these files from a computer on Anti-Matter's orbital space lab. They contain detailed documentation on Anti-Matter's recent attempts to steal technology from Portal Corporation, especially the large-scale portal generators. It looks like he is planning an invasion of some sort, but no orders seem to be coming from Emperor Cole himself.
NPC dialogue
Vanguard Sword at Mission Start:
- Dark Watcher sent us here to make sure this job gets done right.
Debriefing
OK, if these files are correct, Anti-Matter was acting on his own in stealing the Portal Corp tech. That means it's not a full scale invasion, but one man's personal mission using whatever he has at his disposal. Still just as dangerous.
Part Four: Stop the battle
Briefing
While you and I have been piecing together Anti-Matter's plan, he's been moving foward and it looks like he's made his move! The office complex, Waxahachie Park, is under attack by his forces, and from the looks of it there are three leader-type Clockwork at the forefront of this invasion. Take them down and hopefully that will end this incursion!
Vanguard set up a force field set up to contain the battle. Just take any Light Rail over to Waxahachie; the force field operators have instructions to let you in.
Unnecessary Solicitation
That battle is still raging in Waxahachie Park. Someone's got to stop it!
Mission Objective(s)
People run screaming in the streets.
- Defeat all Clockwork leaders
You stopped the battle, but it seems that the Praetorian Clockworks confused the Carnival of Shadows for someone else.

Thanks to you, there weren't any casualties in Waxahachie Park. Calvin Scott informs us that on his world Vanessa DeVore leads the Carnival of Light, who fight against Anti-Matter at every turn. That must be why the invading Clockwork were so obsessed with fighting them.
Part Five: Learn what the Carnival knows about Anti-Matter and the attack
Briefing
It was weird that the Carnival of Shadows had such a profound effect in confusing Anti-Matter's Clockwork invaders. We've got a tip about where the Carnival members who escaped the Battle of Waxahachie are holed up. Go there and see if they have anything to further our understanding of the situation.
- Learn what the Carnival knows about Anti-Matter and the attack
Hopefully you can find someone in that hidey hole that is willing to speak to you about the matter at hand.

Vanessa DeVore questions and answers
Briefing
Before you try, I have pacified you. Your will is weak and I have made it so that we can have this conversation without your bloodlust for my head getting the better of you. Once you have left this warehouse, I will return your free will to yourself. Trust me, your mind is not a place I wish to be spending extended time in. Now, why have you barged in here and disrupted my troupe?
- I want to know what happened in Waxahachie park.
- My troupe was just out to have a little fun, y'know? Cause a little mayhem, seed a little destruction, general good times. Then those robots came in, started calling us 'Carnival of Light', attacked us, then YOU showed up. You know the rest from there.
- I have some more questions
- I quickly tire of this conversation, please make haste.
- What is your relationship to the Carnival of Light?
- The Carnival of Light? It doesn't exist as far as I care. On this earth there is only the Carnival of Shadows. It's that other dimension where things are all opposite. That is where you find your Carnival of Light.
- I have some more questions
- I quickly tire of this conversation, please make haste.
- Where does the Carnival of Shadows stand (Where do you stand) should we (this world) be invaded from another dimension
- As long as there is fun to be had, my troupe and I will fight against whatever incurs here. But I warn you, the enemy of your enemy is not your friend in this case.
- I have some more questions
- I quickly tire of this conversation, please make haste.
- You know I am going to have to arrest you. The Carnival of Shadows must be shut down.
Oh, I do know you'd love to arrest me. But answer me this, Character. How do you arrest an illusion?
You see Vanessa's image flicker. It seems the woman you're talking to now is just an astral projection of the real Vanessa DeVore.
- I'll bring you in one day, Vanessa.
Vanessa's image laughs before it fades away.

Part Six: Search Anti-Matter's orbital lab for information on Project: Deadline
Briefing
Last time you were in Anti-Matter's orbital lab you accessed some of the computers there, right? We've been going over that intel and it gave us a thread we need to pull on. Anti-Matter referred to his time acceleration experiment as Project: Deadline. We need everything we can get on Project: Deadline from his computers, which will be easier now that we know what we are looking for.
- Search Anti-Matter's orbital lab for information on Project: Deadline
One more thing. Seems that your team JUST missed encountering Anti-Matter himself on that station last time. I'd suggest bringing some allies along with you this time to be safe.
Unnecessary Solicitation
We still don't have much to go on. We need to know more about Anti-Matter!
Mission Objective(s)

Project: Deadline
Knowing what to look for in Anti-Matter's computers made things a lot easier. You learn that Project: Deadline is a secret project to use fast time dimensions to quickly assemble a Clockwork invasion force the likes of which no one has ever seen. It takes a very special dimension as well as proprietary technology to make the acceleration happen, but the results can't be argued with.
Anti-Matter's Warning
When Anti-Matter disappeared, he told you "You are FOOLS! You have NO IDEA what you are interferring in!!" This, coupled with the pining you heard earlier possibly means that this is more than a simple invasion.
Anti-Matter dialogue
Before Combat:
- I'm doing this all for you, and still you rebuff me.
Combat:
- Oh, it's the little spies who were on my station the other day!
- You're actually going to try to battle me?!
- I see you think you have a chance.
- Shunt power to aux unit 7-b.
Before teleporting away at around 50% health:
- Override auto shutdown!
- Teleport to pre-established coordinates! Authorization Zero Zero Keyes Zero! You are FOOLS! You have NO IDEA what you are interferring in!!
Debriefing
So, Anti-Matter is using accelerated-time dimensions to quickly assemble his Clockwork armies? A) Why didn't we think of that? And B) This could be incredibly bad. I'll start the search for more Accel-Time dimensions immediately.
Part Seven: Shut down the time accelerators.
Briefing
I've got another Accel-Time dimension, it's the neighbor to Rho Mu 7-2, Rho Mu 7-3. Nearly identical, probably something in their dimensional make-up makes them ideal for this time-acceleration stuff to work there. Go there and deactivate any of those devices you find and bring back any information on what Anti-Matter is up to there.
- Shut down the time accelerators.
Learn whatever you can about Anti-Matter's ultimate plans.
Unnecessary Solicitation
Scans show Rho Mu 7-3 is still under time acceleration.

Part Eight: Go to Neuron's lab and uncover the information.
Briefing
From what we know, Neuron and Anti-Matter are the greatest of rivals on Praetorian Earth, unlike here where Positron and Synapse are the greatest of friends. It's obvious that one of them stole the idea for the accelerated construction from the other, we just need to know which one is which. One of the Resistance, Tunnel Rat, has given us coordinates for a lab in the Neuron Technologies Unlimited building. We want to rift you directly in and find out which one has amassed the larger army, because that is the threat we need to stead ourselves from.
- Go to Neuron's lab and uncover the information
I can't believe that an arms race in another dimension is spilling over into ours.
Unnecessary Solicitation
I need to know which of those two pioneered this accelerated time assembly line idea.
Mission Objective(s)
The cacophony coming from the lab's overhead speakers sounds like it could be music. But its pace is far too rapid to appeal to your ear.

Part Nine: Go to Jamison Office Park and clear the villains out
Briefing
Character, good thing you are here! I've got a dimension incursion from Praetorian Earth, again! Only this time it's not any Clockwork robots, so it's not Anti-Matter or Neuron involved. The incursions are over in Jamison Office Park, which you can get to from any Monorail station. I need you to go out and stop whoever is trying to invade our dimension this time!
- Go to Jamison Office Park and clear the villains out
Reports are coming in that Marauder himself is leading these soldiers, and they are looking for Anti-Matter and his Clockwork. Grab some help, you're going to need it.
Unnecessary Solicitation
Jamison Office Park is still full of those soldiers. Something needs to be done.

- Emperor Cole wants to know what his former Praetor of Technology is up to. I knew we shoulda killed Keyes when Berry took over.
Combat Start:
- Finally someone I can beat down!
Debriefing
I can't make any sense of the political situation in Praetoria. It isn't like it used to be, back when they first invaded and we had no idea Anti-Matter and Neuron even knew each other, much less their rivalry. But those days are gone, and now it's all Praetor this and Praetor that. Their Marcus Cole uses fear to instill structure and purpose, wraps it in a guise of a utopia, and then dupes the populace into thinking he's their hero and savior. Half their world think he's helping them, and the other half want to overthrow him.
Anyway, that's a bigger picture and a story we don't have time to delve into. For now, Marauder is locked down in the Zig, but for one of his power, it's only a matter of time before he's broken out.
Part Ten: Plant dimensional scanners
Briefing
If the Praetorians are planning any incursions into our world, we need as much warning as we can get. I have five scanners that you can set up in the Praetorian dimension which will give us a heads up if they try anything on the scale we're expecting.
We will need to act quickly, as the scanners need approximately 24 hours to fully sync with the dimension they are placed in; I just hope we are getting these placed in time. We know that North America in the Praetorian dimension is mostly covered in dense forest thanks to the Devouring Earth there, so be on the lookout for any hero-eating plants that may be in the area.
- Plant dimensional scanners
The Praetorian version of Woodsman, Shadowhunter, used to roam those forests, but we hear tell that the Devouring Earth finally caught up to him; he won't be bothering anyone any more.
Here are the scanners. They will need to establish an uplink to our dimension immediately, but it will take up to a full day for them to start working properly and giving us the data we need.
Unnecessary Solicitation
I need you to plant those dimensional scanners!
Mission Objective(s)
A sudden, shocking roar disrupts this tranquil stream.
- Place Dimensional Scanners
You planted the dimensional scanners.

Debriefing
Those dimensional scanners should let us know if anybody from Praetorian Earth tries to enter our world again. I'm still mighty worried about Anti-Matter's attempt to invade our dimension. It sounds as if he might be getting close to a solution.
The Final Chapter: Stop Anti-Matter's invasion
Briefing
Looks like the Dimensional Scanners we established in Praetoria are not in sync yet because I am getting reports of a massive invasion force, led by Anti-Matter himself, inside Portal Corporation's labs. I think I need to educate my guys on the Praetorians, because someone mentioned it was Neuron, not Anti-Matter who was invading. I need you to gather a strong force of heroes and get down there and repel this invasion. Defeating the leader of the invading Clockworks should give us the edge we need to mop up. Vanguard already has a couple teams in the lab, but they are no match for these guys.
- Stop Anti-Matter's invasion
According to the data, there are overwhelming forces in that lab. I'd take a full team along, if I were you.

Go to Peregrine Island and clear out the Rikti
Briefing
Portal Corporation's been having a big problem maintaining safety for the lab on Peregrine Island. One of the worst offenders is the Rikti. They seem determined to steal our technology, destroy it, or possibly both! I'd like you to head over to Peregrine Island and clear the Rikti out.
- Go to Peregrine Island and clear out the Rikti
The Rikti have never seen any technology they didn't want to control. Be wary of them, Character. If I were you, I'd start my search in Nelson Borough or Curry Cove.
Unnecessary solicitation
Those Rikti are still causing a problem over on Peregrine Island.
Mission Objective(s)
- Defend Peregrine from Rikti
You have discouraged the Rikti from attacking Portal Corporation.

The security officers over at Portal Corporation are reporting a significant decrease in Rikti activity. Apparently, you really showed them what's what.
Protect Peregrine Island from the Malta Group
Briefing
Peregrine Island may house some of the most important technology on this planet, Character. And it looks like the Malta Group knows it. They've been hanging around the area, trying to get their mitts on any information they can. Some of our technicians have even been assaulted! I need you to protect Peregrine Island from the Malta Group. A lot is at stake here, Character; more than you realize.
- Protect Peregrine Island from the Malta Group
The Malta Group has shown a lot of persistence in this matter. They won't be deterred easily. Look for them near Bayside Docks or Curry Cove.
Unnecessary solicitation
According to my sources, the Malta espionage on Peregrine Island is still as bad as ever.
Mission Objective(s)
- Defend Peregrine from Malta
- Defeat 50 Malta Operatives
You discouraged the Malta Group from spying on Portal Corporation.
Debriefing
I'll sleep a lot better knowing you've got your eye on the Malta Group's activities. If they were ever to get their hands on Portal Corporation's technology, they'd become a great deal more dangerous overnight.
See what you can learn about Crey's efforts
Briefing
We're a little worried about Crey lately. It seems they've been making attempts to access other dimensions, with some degress of success. I can't stress this enough, Character: dimensional stability is not something to be toyed with! We need you to hit the streets and see what you can learn about Crey's efforts. If we can learn about their technology, we may be able to block them from accessing other worlds.
- See what you can learn about Crey's efforts
Crey may be the most power-hungry organization I've ever seen. And, as you might imagine, Character, I've seen a lot. I hear you can find Crey in the Rikti War zone, and occasionally right here on Peregrine.
Unnecessary solicitation
We need to know what progress Crey has made in their efforts to access other worlds.
Mission Objective(s)
One of the Crey agents gave up a disk containing information on Crey's efforts to access other dimensions.
Ambush! Somewhere along the way, you will be ambushed by Crey.
Disk
One of the Crey agents you defeated gave you this disk, labeled 'Project Other Self.' According to the agent, it contains data on Crey's progress in their efforts to reach alternate dimensions. You can only hope it'll be enough to help Portal Corporation.
Debriefing
This disk should be a big help, Character. Thank you so much! I have to admit, Crey is an organization that really frightens me. I simply don't think they have any idea of how dangerous portal technology can be. Why, by mucking about in other dimensions they could be... Well, perhaps that's better left unsaid.
Rescue the freedom fighters
Briefing
This is a first, Character. A freedom fighter from another world just contacted us and asked for help. Apparently, her world is under the brutal control of its version of Nemesis. Anyway, this freedom fighter, Julianne Thompson, says that a bunch of her comrades in the resistance are about to be rounded up. There aren't any more heroes on her world, so she knew she had to look elsewhere. It sounds like a worthy cause to me. Go rescue those freedom fighters. You only have 2 hours.
- Rescue the freedom fighters
Any world under the control of Nemesis can use all the help we can lend them.
Unnecessary Solicitation
I told Julianna Thompson we'd rescue her comrades!
Mission Objective(s)
Nemesis' world looks a lot like ours, but the streets are somehow unwelcoming.

Debriefing
You're saying that one of those freedom fighters you rescued was me? I mean, an alternate version of me? No matter how many times I hear that around here, I never get used to it. Anyway, I got a message from Julianne Thompson, the leader of the freedom fighters. She says all her people are safe now, in a secure location. You just struck a blow against Nemesis, Character. Albeit a different Nemesis than our own.
Rescue Vivian van Dyne
Briefing
We just got an emergency call. Vivian van Dyne, a world class scientist, has just been kidnapped. Our technology indicates that she's been taken to another dimension, and we've managed to pinpoint the correct one: Omicron Zeta 12-20. Portal Corporation's techs discovered the dimension just last week; it was a chunk of broken rubble, ruled over by a clan of Freakshow. Perhaps our investigation into their territory provoked this attack. I don't know if the Freaks on that world are as nasty as the ones here, but I need you to rescue Vivian van Dyne.
Dr. van Dyne's employers tell me she was hard at work on a new anesthetic drug. Perhaps her kidnapping has something to do with that.
Unnecessary Solicitation
I don't want to see you again without Dr. van Dyne in tow.
Mission Objective(s)
A heavy techno beat blasts across the still waters of this ruined wasteland.
You rescued Vivian van Dyne.

Debriefing
The Freakshow of Omicron Zeta 12-20 sure made a mess for themselves. I suppose in a way I do feel bad for them. I can't let them kidnap our scientists, but I can arrange for a shipment of analgesic drugs to be sent to their dimension. Nothing dangerous like the Excelsior the Freaks use to enhance their strength, of course. Just something to keep their implants from paining them so greatly.
Stop the Council soldiers
Briefing
Character, I just got word of a major security breach over on Peregrine Island. It seems the Council has broken through a portal, and they're trying to gather recruits from a world where the Council is in total control. If that happens, we could be overrun with agents in no time flat. I need you to get over to Peregrine and stop those Council soldiers!
- Stop the Council soldiers
This dimension you'll be going to is designated Omega Omicron 26-20, but most people just call it the Council Empire.
Unnecessary Solicitation
The Council is still trying to recruit new soldiers from the Council Empire!

Debriefing
The Council Empire is on the list of restricted dimensions, Character. It's been ruled far too dangerous for our technicians to explore. But for the Council, it's some sort of Mecca. I wouldn't be surprised if they try a stunt like this again, so we should both be on our guard.
Briefing
Are you familiar with the Banished Pantheon, the evil cult that overran the cemetery in Dark Astoria? Well, they're not just a problem for our world. I've been in contact with a world in which the gods that make up the Pantheon were never banished to the spirit world. Instead, they became the dominant gods on their planet and wreaked havoc for millennia! The resistance on that planet have asked for a favor. They've asked us to extract a group of captives held by the Pantheon. Will you do it, Character? You only have 90 minutes to save the captives. And be warned: these captives are being held by a powerful creature called 'Adamastor.' From what little we know, you will almost certainly need help from other heroes to have a chance against it.
- Extract the rebels from the Pantheon's dimension
The Pantheon's gods are a brutal, bloodthirsty lot. I'd hate to find out what horrors they could dream up after millennia of free reign.
Unnecessary Solicitation
You need to extract those rebels from the Pantheon's dimension!
Mission Objective(s)
You hear a thunderous footstep. A pause, then you hear another.
You saved the rebels from the Banished Pantheon.

The captive's story
One of the rebels you rescued from the Banished Pantheon's world told you:
'Our gods live on pain and fear. Some of their favorite dishes, like myself and my companions, they have enchanted with everlasting life. They keep us alive for century after century, feasting on our misery. After I return with you to your world, I won't be immortal anymore. That doesn't matter. I only want to be free.'
Defeating Adamastor awards the Keeper of Secrets badge.
You have defeated the demon, Adamastor, brought forth by the Banished Pantheon to destroy the world.
Debriefing
I feel so sorry for those people. For centuries, they've been the Banished Pantheon's favorite playthings! I'm going to talk to the security branch, see if I can get a steady underground railroad going. We should move as many people out of that dimension as we can!
Check out the new dimension
Briefing
I've got another dimension for you to check out, if you're ready for it. It's called Alpha Upsilon 24-2. I have to warn you, we've been getting some very strange life signs from this dimension. It's be best to be on your guard.

You found this tattered diary beneath a pile of bones. It reads:
'I, the mighty Character, have triumphed, but victory is not as sweet as I imagined. In my zeal to conquer this feeble world, I have instead demolished it. The people I would have ruled? Dead, though not entirely gone. They linger in these lands as foul, angry spirits. They hope eventually to find a way to destroy me, but I am not concerned. I am Character! I need fear no one, for my power is truly beyond all limits.'

Don't feel too bad, Character. It sounds as though your alternate self wiped out that dimension, but doesn't mean you're responsible. If anything, you should take it as a warning. I guess your other self was corrupted by your terrific power. Remember that, and don't let it happen to you!
Repel the Crey incursion
Briefing
Character, Portal Corporation really needs your help. A group of Crey operatives are attacking a lab in Founders' Falls. They want Portal Corporation's technology, and they're not going to give up without some strong encouragement. That's where you come in. I need you to get over to that lab and repel the Crey incursion. Portal Corporation's technology is far too dangerous for the likes of Crey!
I doubt Crey has any idea how dangerous that tech can be. You've got to stop them from getting their hands on it!

The scientist's story
One of the Portal Corporation scientists you rescued told you:
'They said when they were through with us, they were going to go after the RM-Delta facility on Peregrine Island. I can't tell you what goes on therel it's highly classified. Debriefing
Whew, Character, that was a close one.
Hmm. Perhaps I've said too much.
Save the Oranbegans from the Malta Group
Briefing
I just got word that the Malta Group has had portal technology for the last six months! They've been setting up amateur portals, very unstable, but now it looks as if they've got their system working. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised by which world they've selected: Tau Gamma 9-24. The world where Oranbega won their war against the nation of Mu. From everything I've heard, the Oranbegans on that world are a decent people. The Malta Group is this world's problem, not theirs. Will you save the Oranbegans from the Malta Group? You only have 90 minutes to deal with the situation.
- Save the Oranbegans from the Malta Group
The Malta Group wants to bring all super powers under its control. Including those on other worlds.
Unnecessary Solicitation
We can't let the Malta Group run roughshod over another dimension!
Mission Objective(s)

You saved the Oranbegans from the Malta Group.

The mage's story
One of the Oranbegan mages you rescued told you:
'In ancient times, our people waged terrible wars. First, we eliminated the nation of Mu. Then, fearing for our safety, we conquered the rest of the planet. Whole civilizations were ground under our heels. Later, repentant, we made a pact. No violent magic may be performed upon this world. The knowledge of such spells has been purged from our libraries, and it is death to perform them. Perhaps our philosophy of pacifism has trapped us. We had the power to defend ourselves against Malta, but not the will!'
Rescued Oranbegan dialogue
Each captive, when rescued:
- We cannot serve these people! They are demented!
- Our gratitude will always be with you.
- Violence is abhorrent to us!
- You have done Oranbega a great service. I salute you, strange one.
- What is wrong with your world? Why is it so violent?
- Character? Is that your name? A strange one, but I'll remember it.
- Your world is lucky to have you!
- They thought they could control us!
- Even your world's heroes use violence to solve problems. How can this be?
- They wanted us all to be their slaves!
- With you around, perhaps there is hope that your world may one day evolve as ours has.
- I could not bear to raise my fists against them!

Debriefing
A world on which the Circle of Thorns turned into utter pacifists? I guess I've heard stranger things. You did a good thing by protecting them against the Malta Group, Character. Portal Corporation is working on a method for locking the Malta Group out of other dimensions. Until it's ready, we'll just have to rely upon your skillful assistance.
Go to Praetoria and disrupt Anti-Matter's plans (42-45)
Briefing
Character, we've been monitoring the situation over on the dimension classified as Upsilon Beta 9-6, which you know as the Praetorian Earth. It seems that one of the major players over there, Anti-Matter, who as best as we can tell is the 'evil Positron', is planning some sort of dimensional breach into our world. A breach that we can not allow to happen.
His lab will have all sorts of dimensional and portal stabilizers and the ilk, and we'd like you to get over there and destroy any progress he's made on incurring on our dimension.
- Go to Praetoria and disrupt Anti-Matter's plans
Set the portal to Upsilon Beta 9-6. I've got coordinates that will drop you right into the lab in question.
Unnecessary Solicitation
We can't allow any of those Praetorians to establish a beachhead in this dimension.
Mission Objective(s)
Praetoria. Whether you call this place home or this is your first time here, you have the insight to look past all the utopian propaganda and see this world for what it really is.
- Disrupt Anti-Matter's plans.
Anti-matter's incursion plans have been stopped for now.

Debriefing
If that flunky for Tyrant can get that close to establishing a permanent portal to Primal Earth, I am worried as to what the Praetorian Guard could do if they actually worked together for once. Emperor Cole won't stop until he can claim our dimension as his own.
