This command offers an alternative way to set all of your hiding options with a single number. Given the 7 groups you can hide from, there are 128 different possible combinations. This is what the Devs called a "bitfield", which is a computer programming term that we don't need to get into.

The table below offers an easy reference to determine the code for the desired hiding options. For example, if you wanted to hide from no-one, you'd type 0. If you wanted to hide from your Supergroup and Global Friends, but not anyone else, you'd type 10. If you wanted to hide from everyone, you'd type 127.

Slash command

/hideset number

Set hide options bitfield. Hide from any combination of groups.

  • Number is a code from 0-127.
  • When used without an argument, this command can tell your hiding status (if you're hiding from anyone). For example, /hideset.

This command offers an alternative way to set all of your hiding options with a single number. Add up all options desired and use that number to set your hiding options:

Hide From...

  • 0 None
  • 1 Searches
  • 2 Supergroup
  • 4 Friends
  • 8 Global Friends
  • 16 Global Channels
  • 32 Tells
  • 64 Invites
  • 127 All

For example, if you wanted to hide from Searches (1) and Supergroup (2), then you'd type /hideset 3 (1+2=3). If you wanted to hide from Friends (4), Tells (32) and Invites (64), you'd type /hideset 100 (4+32+64=100). If you wanted to hide from everyone, then you'd type /hideset 127. Hiding from no-one would be /hideset 0.

The table below offers an alternative reference to determine the code for the desired hiding options. Given the 7 groups you can hide from, there are 128 different possible combinations, all of which are shown in the table.

Example

/hideset 65
