Overview

Laurence Mansfield is a contact who assigns missions to heros beginning when they reach level 5. He is located just outside the Chiron Medical Center at coordinates (-80, -784, -827).

Contacts

Contact Introduced By

New Contact(s)

I'd like you to meet Ron Hughes. He's a reporter, and lately he's been interested in the Skulls. Ron's magazine is located in Kings Row, so that's where he can be found.

Ron believes that science should be used for the good of all.

Have you ever met Paula Dempsey? She's a real pistol and has a great deal of information on the Clockwork. You'll like her, and I'll be she'll like you as well. Paula hangs out in Kings Row.

Information

Coroner

The coroner's job in Paragon City is complicated by a number of factors: the exotic powers that can cause death, the alien anatomies that complicate autopsies, and the mutant abilities that sometimes make it hard to tell if a person's actually dead. Laurence Mansfield has handled all of these with aplomb for more than twenty years. Not only is he calm, dignified, and insightful, he's also immensely curious. He's a bit of an amateur detective, a hobby the police department frowns on. So Laurence goes straight to some of the city's heroes instead. He's always excited to share tips and theories with costume-clad defenders, and he considers many of them his friends. The police look the other way, in deference to the skill and speed with which he performs his assigned duties.

Introduction

You are livelier than most people I meet.

Talk to David Wincott

Briefing

Have you heard about the Hollows? Ever since the Trolls moved into Eastgate, the Paragon PD has been fighting a losing battle against them. If you're willing, I'd like you to go talk to Lt. David Wincott of the Trolls Task Force. He could really use your help in reclaiming the Hollows. Of course, we can really use your help here, too. Whereever you'd like to lend a hand, you'll be welcome.

Mission Acceptance

The Trolls are the worse problem in the Hollows, but they aren't the only one. I'll let Lt. Wincott fill you in.

Clue: Hollows Briefing

Eastgate used to be a nice residential neighborhood with a view of the ocean. Before Trolls moved in, that is. On a quest for more territory, a group of Trolls headed into the sewers under Eastgate with the intent of blasting open a large area. What they didn't know that that there was already an extensive cave warren beneath the area. Their blasts destabilized the ground and collapsed a large section of the zone. When the dust settled, the surviving Trolls realized that they had found an excellent area for expansion. This event became known as the Hollowing. Since the Hollowing, other groups have moved into the area, including the Outcasts, the Circle of Thorns, and the strange rock-like creatures known as Pumicites. The Paragon City Police Department has its hands full trying to expel these threats so that reconstruction on the Hollows can begin.

Mission Objective(s)

  • Talk to Lt. David Wincott

Recover the Jewel of Hera

Briefing

The Paragon City Museum has reported the theft of an ancient artifact, the Jewel of Hera. I'd bet my life the Circle is behind it. Will you recover the stolen jewel from the Circle of Thorns?

Mission Acceptance

The Jewel of Hera was once used to power rituals of revenge. I don't know who the Circle wants revenge against, but I know I want them stopped.

Mission Objective(s)

  • Defeat jewel thief and his crew
  • Find the Jewel of Hera

Clue: The Jewel of Hera

According to legend, Hera gave this emerald neclace to one of Zeus' many mortal wives. When the girl put the necklace on, she was immediately engulfed in flames. In the millennia since, the necklace has often been used to enhance rituals of revenge.

Debriefing

Thanks to you, the Circle of Thorns has been blunted again.

Arrest Revenant

Briefing

According to my sources, one of the Hellions' high-ranking thugs, Revenant, is holed up in a nearby abandoned office. Can you arrest Revenant for me? If we can put one of their big shots in jail, it may help us curb the Hellions' violence.

Mission Acceptance

Maybe Revenant can tell us where the Hellions are getting their stady supply of artifacts.

Mission Objective(s)

  • Arrest Revenant and his crew

Debriefing

You say Revenant was passing on orders from the Hellions' artifact supplier? Very interesting. It could be that there's a greater design behind the Hellions' recent territory grab. I'm counting on you to keep a close watch on these thugs.
