Command Line Parameter
Tells the game that the client was started with the Valve Steam launcher. If so, the Steam SDK is initialized. (non-functional)
There was a time when City of Heroes could be purchased and ran on Valve's Steam platform. Although Steam no longer offers City of Heroes, you may still install and launch the game through Steam if you like. Useful for keeping all of your games in one place, using the Steam controller overlay, and also for the general Steam overlay if you like it.
How to add City of Heroes to Steam
- Open Steam, then select the Games menu item at the top of the window.
- Click ‘Add a Non-Steam game to my Steam Library’.
- Select Browse to find your non-Steam game.
- Find, select and open your game’s executable file located in <COH Install Directory>\bin\win64\live\cityofheroes.exe.
- Select your game, then click ‘Add Select Programs’.
- Find your City of Heroes game in your library, then right-click on it and select Properties...
- Add the required command line parameters to the "Launch Options" box:
-profile live -auth 51.161.76.201 -legacylayout -assetpath assets/Issue24 -assetpath assets/live
- Close the Steam Properties window and play the game.
Note: If your game client's patch version doesn't match the current patch version on the Homecoming server, the game won't run until you update the game client using the Homecoming Launcher.
