Overview

Con System is short for Consideration System. It is a color coded way to 'consider' how difficult it will be to defeat a particular target.

The Con System will change the color of your target's name based on its relative level as well as its rank. This is called the Con color. (some may refer it as Con rank, or Con level).

Rank refers to Underlings, Minions, Lieutenants, Bosses, Elite Bosses, Archvillains and Heroes, each of these has a different modifier that will change the Con color.

The Con Color is determined by subtracting the critter's level from your combat level and adding their rank.

For critters with no rank (such as pet's), you can use the con color to determine their rank. Take their con color's numerical value and add the difference in your levels.

Con Colors

The following is a list of Con colors. The colors span from -4 to +4. Everything that con's less than -4 will be dark grey; everything that con's more than +4 will be purple.

(-5) Dark Grey Not worth it.
(-4) Dark Grey *witty comment*
(-3) Grey What Positron says.
(-2) Green Green like grass. Mow as such.
(-1) Blue Dangerous in large groups.
(+0) White Should be a mediocre fight.
(+1) Yellow Most characters will handle these just fine.
(+2) Orange Bring a friend.
(+3) Red Bring several friends.
(+4) Purple Bring some Awakens
(+5) Purple mommy

Rank

The higher a critter's rank, the higher its con color will be.

(-1) Underling
(+0) Minion
(+1) Lieutenant, Sniper
(+2) Boss
(+3) Elite Boss (bugged/error)
(+4) Archvillains, Heroes and Monsters(instanced)
(+100) Giant Monsters and Monsters(non-instanced) (except Sally)

Notes

  • Giant Monsters will always con purple to everyone no matter what level they are. This includes Monsters that are NOT spawned inside of instanced missions. All Devouring Earth Monsters in The Hive and Peregrine Island con purple to all characters.
    • An exception to this is Sally, who's level ranges from 27 to 30.
  • There are 2 shades of grey for targets conning -3 and -4, but the difference is negligible.
  • Conning errors do occur, examples:
    • Currently, all Elite Bosses will con as regular bosses, +2.
    • Critters spawned from Rikti Portals often have a con +1 that of normal. (may have been patched)

Example

Character combat level 15
Lieutenant NPC level 17
Level Difference +2
Rank Difference +1
Con color +3 (Red)
