Introductions

Initial Contact

So you're the one who is tired of all these 'Destined Ones', eh? Well, maybe we can work together and do something about it.

Information

Ex-Arachnos Soldier

Alan was once a high ranking Arachnos soldier. On one mission, his superiors ordered him into a suicide scenario, unbeknownst to him and his team. Being a diversion, his superiors did not do anything about his team's safety and they were wiped out, with Desslock being the only survivor. He made his way out of the nightmare and back to the Rogue Isles where he quit Arachnos and now does what he can to subvert their activities, all the while looking to place an operative on the inside.

Briefing

So, you come to me because you want to pretend you are a Destined One, eh? Want all the perks that go with being one of the few, the proud, the Tools of Lord Recluse?

Well, I can see advantages for myself in helping you out here, so I am willing to do this with you. You are going to owe me a lot of favors for my help, but we can cross that bridge when you are a bit more powerful. For now, you gotta put your name onto the list. You do know there is a list, right? Kalinda, one of Lord Recluse's seers, divined who the actual Destined Ones can be, and made a list. It's electronic so it shouldn't be too hard to insert your name onto it. I even have a virus you can upload that will stick your name onto all the copies on the Arachnos computer network as well.

  • Alter the Destined One list and insert your own name onto it.

It's a simple job, and brings with it the benefit of being one of Lord Recluse's Destined Ones. Pretty good for a day's work, I'd say.

Once you finish, you should start seeing the benefits of your work immediately by seeing Kalinda herself for some Destiny-related jobs.

You have received the computer virus from Alan Desslock.

Clue
Desslock's Virus

Desslock fashioned a virus to replicate the master Destined One list over any of its copies on other networked computers. After it finishes it will act like a Freedom Corps watchdog program in order to throw the Arachnos techs off the trail of anyone affecting the Destined One lists.

Mission Objective(s)

  • Alter Destined One List
    • Alter Destined One Mainframe

Since you are not supposed to be here, you should take care of any witnesses as well.

Mission Objective: You have placed your name on the list and uploaded Desslock's virus.

Mission Complete: You are now on the Destined One list and are a part of Project: Destiny whether Lord Recluse likes it or not!

Clue
The New List

You have a copy of the new list that you created. It has your name listed among the list of possible 'Destined Ones'. You have taken your first step in your master plan.

Debriefing

Well, you've taken your first step.

You should go and see Kalinda now that you are on the list and start doing what she needs. I should have more for you to do when you are Threat Level 5.

On the off chance you don't want to deal with Arachnos much, I'd go speak with Burke.

Let's Do This

Briefing

Ah, you're back. And just in time, too!

It turns out there was an operative that entered the Zig to bust out the Destined Ones. This Private Jenkins had a hard copy of the list, something that is obviously unaffected by my virus. It's the original 'without Character' edition too. I know where he is currently dispatched, so you can find him and get that list from him. The list is too long, and he is too stupid to know your name isn't on it, so just getting the list from him will do. He carries it around as some sort of memento of a successful mission, so beating him up should be sufficient in getting them back.

  • Beat up Jenkins and get the list.

He's not the sharpest tool in the shed, but he is a trained Arachnos operative. Use caution.

Jenkins must be down here doing a sweep for Snake activity.

Mission Objective(s)

  • Defeat Jenkins, Get List
    • Get list from Pvt. Jenkins

Dialog

(aggroed)

Private Jenkins: Hey, it's Character! How's things going? Why are you looking at me like you want to beat me up?

Mission Objective: You find Private Jenkins' copy of the original Destined One list in his wallet, along with some cash.

Mission Complete: You defeated Private Jenkins and got his copy of the list!

Debriefing

Well done. That should do it with extraneous copies of that list. You should destroy that before people start to ask questions.

Well, look at that, the insignificant one actually has some potential.

The Longbow List "Part Two" (Level 30)

Briefing

I have a suspicion that Longbow are rounding up Destined Ones for their own purposes. One of my contacts within the organisation pointed me to a warehouse they are using as a staging area. Go break in there and access their computers, looking for any information on Destined ones you can find.

  • Steal computer files

Bring me the files when you have them, so we can piece this together.

Mission Objective(s)

  • Steal computer files
    • Alter Destined One Mainframe

This is the staging area Desslock told you about.

Mission Objective: You copy the files off the hard drive.

Mission Complete: You've got the files, now get them to Alan Desslock.

Clue
Computer File

You have found a computer file on Operation: Villain Be Gone. The operation seems to be about rounding up villains broken out of the Zig by Arachnos. Longbow believes the villains belong to something called Project: DESTINY. There is a location for a cargo ship out in the waters near the Rogue Isles.

Debriefing

Ok, these files will give me a better idea about what's going on.

Bug! First mission described in mission text as Part Two - should be Part One. The second mission in the mini-arc is referred to as Part One.

The Longbow List "Part One" (Level 30)

Briefing

I got word that the Freedom Phalanx is rounding up Destined Ones and running some kind of mumbo jumbo magic experiments on them. Of course, we should learn more about these experiments: see if you show up and all that. We can never be too careful. I'd take down some Longbow and see what you can learn about this Operation: Villain Be Gone.

  • Go defeat 30 Longbow

Keep taking them out till you find one that talks.

Task Complete: You got one of the Longbow to talk!

Clue
Interrogation

You got one of the Longbow agents to give you some information on Operation: Villain Be Gone. It seems a member of the Freedom Phalanx is spearheading the operation here in the Rogue Isles. With the spells and such it must be one of the mystical members, maybe Numina.

Debriefing

Hmm, I wonder who is heading all this up? Numina maybe, with all the magic involved.

The Longbow List Part Three (Level 30)

Briefing

Okay, I think I have this figured out. Longbow have a boat offshore that they are organizing the strikes from. Your job is to get out there and take on whoever is running this show. I also want you to grab a hold of whatever list Longbow is using to track down Destined Ones. I'd bring some help along, if they have a Hero, then you might need all the help you can get.

* Take out Hero. Retrieve List.

Good luck, and don't be shy about asking for help with this.

This is the place.

Clue
Longbow Files

This list seems to be a copy of the original Destined One list that you altered. Your name is not on it, but the file indicates that it was divined by someone in Paragon City, and recently too .

Dialog

Back Alley Brawler: OK, team, this Operation DESTINY crap has to end now. Suit up and get ready for another strike.

Aggro: Arachnos is here!

On 75%: Huh, this spider has a bite!

On 50%: Now you're just pissing me off!

On 25%: Pretty tough for an Arachnos soldier!

Defeat: This isn't over!

Player defeat: Someone call an exterminator?

Mission Objective: You found something

Mission Complete: You've defeated Back Alley Brawler and accessed the computer.

Debriefing

Ah, it looks like Longbow has their own list. I hadn't even thought of that. I wonder why your name is on the Arachnos List and not on theirs?

Additional Data

Need a lot more data

Editor's note: This information is for whoever plans on finishing up the article. I don't know what to do with it other than to type it and post it, because I'm missing everything before it. I didn't realize the wiki was missing so much of the information.

  • This short arc (it doesn't appear to be considered an arc, though) is only available once you reach level 50.

Statesman cut-scene dialog:

The criminal mastermind known as Dr. Brainstorm has somehow altered the fabric of the universe and allowed the archetypes of the Rogue Isles access to powers that they did not have previously. By using the Hypothetical Frameworks used by inventors the world over, he laid the foundation of his master plan. We believe that even Dr. Brainstorm could not foresee the full effects of this, as many of the heroic archetypes have found similar new sources of power. Surely this is to maintain some sort of cosmic balance, but to be sure Positron as well as the city's top scientists are looking into the situation.

  • Statesman does not have any dialog for reaching 75%, 50%, 25%, or 0% health, nor for defeating the player.

Final debriefing:

Well you did it. You probably didn't even need my help, all I did was make things a bit easier for you. I hope you remember me now that you've made it to the big leagues. If you ever want some help in tearing down the faade [sic] that is Arachnos, perhaps we can work together in the future?
