More to come...

I actually have more to add to this article. I have created a method of accurately measuring the scale of maps and created some moderately complex math equations to do stuff like pinpoint the exact pixel where a location is on a map, even on transformed maps such as maps that are zoomed, cropped, etc. It was all the basis for a grand project that I started and haven't finished (isn't that always the way) for a map generator site. Who knows, maybe I'll actually wrap it up at some point. http://pcfreepress.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_cool.gif

You know, I was looking at the modified Hollows map just now and realized that I'd never noticed they use a left-handed coordinate system for the zones. No wonder I always get so confused when I'm trying to figure out which axis is which. --Eabrace 23:33, 1 November 2007 (EDT)

Yeah, when I found that out, I was pretty surprised. Seems like such an odd thing to do, since most people are taught x,y,z with z being vertical. - Snorii 23:37, 1 November 2007 (EDT)
Reminds me of a thread in Player Questions a few hours ago. Someone mentioned a mnemonic / acronym that helped them remember. WUS (wuss) West Up South for postive numbers, and EDN (eden) East Down South for negative numbers. Linky --Konoko 02:29, 2 November 2007 (EDT)
"Of course, you also want to remember the Acronym: W U S for West Up South (the /loc numbers in the direction that they get larger) or E D N for East Down North for the opposite (or for Enhancement Diversification Nerf; either one). --Ninus"
