Noticed while filling in info for Cloaking Device that the short description in-game states it has a +DMG effect. It doesn't. Reported as a bug. - Eabrace 14:34, 27 January 2007 (PST)

Besides the fact this needs the majority of the power info, IIRC Taser now has a range to it. TayJK 11:48, 23 January 2007 (PST)

I've noticed Targetting Drone has an additional benefit when active, if used with Sniper Rifle. It deals extra Energy Damage. I haven't seen mention of this anywhere (this wiki or City of Data). Does it do this for the sniping attacks from other primary powersets? --Professor Immortal 00:35, 28 August 2007 (EDT)

No, it's only with Sniper Rifle. It was added in a the 1.25.07 patch. I tried to find some discussion on the change on the boards, but I have a feeling any discussion that was there may have been lost in a forum purge somewhere down the line. From what I recall, the basic rationale behind the change went something like this:
  • The Assault Rifle set is primarily a lethal damage set. Lethal damage is highly resisted in the game - particularly at later levels. As such, Assault Rifle tends to be a bit of an underperformer in the late game.
  • Resistance may be compensated for with damage boosting powers such as Build Up or (to a lesser extent) Aim. There is no Build Up in the Devices set and there is no Aim in Assault Rifle. All other primary blaster sets have Aim (or Amplify). All other secondary blaster sets have Build Up. This makes the Assault Rifle/Devices combination an underperformer in comparison to any other blaster set combinations.
  • Allowing a damage boost to Sniper Rifle when used with Targeting Drone allows for slightly improved performance of the Assault Rifle/Devices combination.
I wasn't aware that the added damage was energy damage, though. I would have thought it'd be lethal. Interesting.
