Information

Former Circle Mage

Tyrka is a former Circle of Thorns mage. There aren't many members of the Circle of Thorns who willingly abandon thousands of years of tradition, but Tyrka seems to have been swayed enough by someone to leave the Circle of Thorns. It's assumed from the body that Tyrka's spirit is female, though Tyrka has never confirmed that suggestion.

Aurora's Report

You were sent this official report that was made by Aurora Borealis regarding the incident with you, Malaise, Johnny Sonata, and Sister Psyche. Darrin Wade left his elaborate signature on a piece of paper of the report, indicating that he somehow obtained this for you to see. At the top of his note are the words...

Masterpiece

The report by Aurora Borealis begins by saying how she believes you forced Johnny Sonata to record a song on the artifact known as the Dirge of Chaos. Mynx and Swan of the Vindicators went to investigate the connection between you and Johnny Sonata after you attacked the safe house that Malaise was being kept in.

Aurora goes into great detail about the battle you had within Psyche's mind, putting full blame on you and Malaise for doing a great deal of damage to Sister Psyche. She mentions how you fought off every wave of psychic defenders that she and Sister Psyche created and warns that you're much more powerful than they had previously thought.

The report ends with details about what Swan and Mynx discovered in the Golden Giza, which is that Darrin Wade is your partner in this whole plan. Aurora suggests that Longbow and any able-bodied hero should stop at nothing to apprehend you and Wade, as you've both proven yourselves to be extremely dangerous. You have a feeling that Wade has some sort of plan in his mind for all of this, and you're prepared for your friendly working relationship with Wade to reach a possible sour ending; not many partnerships in the Isles tend to end with both sides getting what they want, and you'll be sure that you get what you want at the end of all this.

Part I: The Golden Pipes

Briefing

Hello. Character. I am Tyrka. Darrin Wade has requested I speak with you. I've heard much about what you've done in the past, and I wish to help you achieve more in the present and future.

Your own plan and Mr. Wade's are falling in line nicely with each other. As you're no doubt aware, Malaise has been arrested by the authorities of Paragon. This odd behaviour is exactly what we need; it is now time for us to take action ibn ornder to make an attack on Sister Psyche.

Of course, many have fought the psychic before, but this time it will be different. We will be going inside her very mind to attack her. Out of formality, I must ask, are you interested in truly destroying one of the most powerful psychics in the world?

This arc contains elite bosses and may be difficult to complete by yourself.

  • Agree to form a strike force

Tyrka hands you a letter and a package.

I implore you to read over the letter and go over the contents of the package.

...

Are you prepared? I may have all the time in the world, given my current spiritual situation, but you do not. As you see, you've been given the Dirge of Chaos. Now, as you may or may not be aware, one of Sister Psyche's mahor weakness is negative emotions, or rather, a very large amount of negative emotions. It nearly crippled her back in the 1980's. The Dirge of Chaos is one such artifact that can do the same.

We will need a powerful song within the Dirge, and not just any song; we will need a song performed by one who is powered by demons. Luckily for us, there is such a man here in St. Martial: Johnny Sonata, the man who sold his soul for his 'golden pipes'.

You have all the tools, Character. It will be up to you to get Johnny Sonata to record a song on the Dirge of Chaos. His Family goons won't try to attack you unless you go into the private areas of the Giza, then it will be fair game. You can let Johnny know that Darrin Wade will compensate him with a powerful artifact in return; I'd ask you to give him an artifact, but Wad einsisted that you do not pay any sort of price for this, given the legwork you'll be doing.

+++ Missing Information +++

Mission Objective(s)

Rave music fills the air in this part of the Giza. Johnny Sonata is somehwere here, enjoying the palace of sin that he's built himself upon.

  • Record a Song on the Dirge of Chaos
    • Get into the second level of the Giza
    • Find Johnny Sonata
    • 'Convince' Johnny to sing a song for the Dirge
    • Get to Johnny's performance area
    • Fend off the incoming insanity

You have recorded a new hit single with Johnny Sonata, entitled, 'Rule the World'!

Clue
Rule the World

Johnny Sonata recorded a new song entitled, 'Rule the World', on the Dirge of Chaos. When the song played, it will create a devastating effect; the power of the Dirge of Chaos, combined with Johnny Sonata's demonic-granted voice, will spread enough negative and chaotic energy to devastate anyone who isn't prepared for it.

Debriefing

Always a prefessional, Character. I heard there was quite a ruckus in the Giza from the song Johnny was singing. I can only assume that means that everything went according to plan.

That means part one is done. Part two, however, is something that... you may not exactly enjoy. It involves a safe house and the sewers in Paragon.

Part II: The Sound of Chaos

Briefing

Malaise is not being kept in the Zig. It's a smart move on their part, we had stolen detailed plans on the infrastructure of the Zig from Arachnos some time ago.

No, instead they have Malaise in a safe house nearby, one that is armed to the teeth to ensure no one tries a direct assault. Even you, Character, would be blasted to bits if you tried to walk in there. To be fair, almost anyone would be blasted to bits if the walked in there.

Luckily for us, the Dirge of Chaos will allow us to walk right into the safe house. We hook into the speaker system that's within the safe house to play the music, causing everyone to go crazy.

  • And then I'll need to ensure that system cannot be turned off.

Mission Acceptance

Exactly. I have a good feeling that Manticore will be able to figure out how to turn that system off. Now, he may or may not actually be there, but it's imperative that we leave Sister Psyche with no other option than to absorb the negative energy being given off by the music.

This will put her in an extremely weakened stage, allowing Malaise to dive inside of her mind. Now, we've stolen one of the Nemesis mole machines. It will get you to the sewer network below the safe house.

We're already cutting it close, as the safe house has several precautions to check for any underground disturbances. This is why you may have quite a trek to get up there. Once you set up the Dirge, the security systems should freak out, allowing you to simply leave the sewers and walk into the front door.

As you see, Character, there is quite a lot of riding on this. Just be careful, as you'll most likely have to fight off Manticore, if he's there.

Unnecessary Solicitation

We risk Malaise being moved to another safe house if we wait to long, Character.

Mission Objective(s)

The Nemesis machine shoots out from the ground, leaving you within the depths of the Paragon sewer system.

  • Play the Dirge of Chaos
    • Get to the sewers and set up the dirge within one of the crates.
    • Get into the warehouse and destroy the scanner systems.
    • Defeat Manticore

The plan is finished! Sister Psyche will have to absorb the negative energy to stop all of this, leaving her in a weakened state.

Debriefing

Great work, Character. I've been keeping tabs on Malaise. Everything has gone according to plan.

He is inside of Sister Psyche's mind, causing all sorts of chaos and destruction. Well, he would be, if it weren't for that prat, Aurora Borealis. She's trying to send in mental defenses to strengthen Sister Psyche's mind.

Malaise has two goals within Sisster Psyche's mind. The first is to release the personality of Aurora Borealis that is trapped in Psyche's mind; this will throw the psychic into chaos, and if all goes according to plan, allow the trapped woman to take full control over Psyche. The second is to then try and trap Sister Psyche within her own mind, allowing to 'fake' version of Aurora full reign.

Final: Artistic Appreciation

Briefing

Now, there's one main issue we have right now Character. Malaise is outnumbered in Sister Psyche's mind. He barely has the Aurora trapped within Psyche... hrm, for short-hand, let's just call her Aurora-Psyche, shall we? Yes, he barely has Aurora-Psyche free, but now he has to contend with what remains of Psyche's defenses and the real Aurora Borealis.

  • So i need to get into Psyche's mind to finish this. I assume you have a way in.

Mission Acceptance

I do, Character. Do you remember Fortunata Gossamer? Well, she's quite a powerful psychic in her own way. I've used some of my magics to take control of her in order to use her abilities to scan Malaise's progress. The girl was quite angry about how everything turned out in Warburg; she really left me no choice.

Gossamer can send a projection of yourself into Sister Psyche's mind. Once you're inside, you'll need to assist Malaise in dismantling Sister Psyche's defenses. Be careful in there, Character, you'll be fighting a cornered psychic and another powerful psychic, while also working together with a certifiable mad man.

Unnecessary Solicitation

Malaise needs your help as soon as possible, Character!

Mission Objective(s)

Gossamer flings a projection of yourself past Sister Psyche's destroyed defenses. You land in the heart of her mind, where Malaise awaits your aid.

  • Drestroy Sister Psyche's Mind
    • Fight off Sister Psyche and Aurora's manifestations
    • Find Sister Psyche in her Rikti memory
    • Defeat the final images of Aurora Borealis
    • Convince Sister Psyche her world isn't real

You were able to destabilize Sister Psyche's mind and release the fake Aurora Borealis that was trapped within!

Debriefing

How does it feel, Character? You are responsible for destabilizing one of the world's most powerful psychics. Normally, you would have to watch out for Sister Psyche trying to get into your mind, but from my reports, she's quite busy trying to keep her own mind clear of Aurora.

It's a shame about Malaise, but in the end, he was just a means to an end, wasn't he? Malaise died willingly and happily, at the very least.

Now, the Freedom Phalanx is in complete chaos; Statesman is missing, Sister Psyche has gone insane, and Manticore is wrapped up in trying to cure Psyche's condition, rather than go after us. A good way to end the day, I do believe, though there is still much to be done. We'll be in touch, but I would prepare, Character. Your greatest challenge will soon be coming up, I guarantee it.
