Talk:Developer's Choice
Page Content
o.o been kinda wondering... should we at least list the names of story arcs and such that get this (and possibly Hall of Fame) award? Once awarded these mission are with us more or less permanently... Though, if the wiki community's decision is yes on both of these, I suggest waiting for the Hall of Fame ones to have that title for at least a week or two before listing. I've seen one get yanked already. --Sleepykitty 08:44, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
I don't think that would be necessary. To keep HoF status, at least the way it is currently, the arc has to maintain a 4.5 rating. Even Dev's Choice arcs can be pulled by the author. Seems like it would be more of a headache to maintain than really necessary. The article should just demonstrate how to seek out and recognize Dev Choice/HoF arcs and note the kinds of rewards that are received. --K26dp 16:00, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
- To be honest, the Dev's Choice and Hall of Fame will likely continue to be a massive draw to the game, probably only increasing in popularity, and any wiki would be incomplete without documenting such content as much as possible. So it can be taken down/removed; so what? At the very least, once it attains Dev Choice status a story arc should be recognized as a key part of the game. And there's no reason a template couldn't be created as a header for such pages, stating that the article pertains to user-created content, and listing its status as active or removed; the status isn't something that would necessarily need to be monitored, just updated as people note that it has changed. -- Heaven's Agent 20:40, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
- I think that there's some potential crossover value here with both the Ouroboros Portal and another (as-yet-unannounced) project that Tony's tinkering with. Might be best to just keep this to a simple explanation of what Developer's Choice is and provide an interwiki link to one of the other areas for a list of player-created content. --Eabrace 18:59, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- Then do you want me to not add such information? I'm unfamiliar with Titan Network itself, having just returned to the game after a significant absence, and had intended to work on Dev Choice arcs as my primary project here. I'm all for a wiki working with external sites and projects, but I've never heard of one ignoring an aspect of their subject on purpose simply because an associated site might do something along those lines in the future. Actually, I've never known a serious project that didn't document such content even when an affiliated site does list such information; to do so would make things more difficult than necessary for those visiting the wiki. -- Heaven's Agent 19:18, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
