Overview

Ice Mastery is one of the Ancillary Power Pools available to Brutes and Tankers.

You have Mastery over ice and snow to blast your foes and control your foes.

Power Table

The following table shows which powers are available and at what level:

The following are powers in the Ice Mastery powerset.

ArcticMastery BlockOfIce.png Block of Ice

You can freeze a single foe in a Block of Ice. The target is frozen solid, helpless, and can be attacked. More powerful foes may not be held, but all affected targets will be slowed.

Immobilizes your target in an icy trap. Deals some damage over time and slightly slows the target's attack and movement speed. Useful for keeping villains at bay.

IceBlast Bolt.png Ice Blast

Ice Blast hurls shards of ice at foes and slows their attacks and movement for a time. Slower recharge than Ice Bolt, but more damage. You must be level 38 and have one other Ice Mastery PowerPowers before selecting this power.

IceBlast FreezingRain.png Ice Storm

Shred your foes with this Ice Storm. This power deals a lot of damage in a large area and can slow all affected targets movement and attack speed. You must be level 44 and have two other Ice Mastery Powers before selecting this power.

You can blast forth a wide cone of chilling air that dramatically slows the movement and attack rate of nearby foes. You must be level 41 and have one other Ice Mastery PowerPowers before selecting this power.

Historical

This section contains information about changes that took place in City of Heroes/Villains. It is provided for historical purposes.

  • This set was added to the game in Issue 3.
  • This set was made available to Brutes in Issue 18
  • Issue 21 lowered the level at which the set's powers become available: two changed from 41 to 35, two from 44 to 41, and one from 47 to 44.
  • Issue 27, Page 5 lowered the level at which the third power from Ancillary Power Pools unlocked from level 41 to level 38.
  • Issue 27, Page 7 renamed this set from Arctic Mastery to Ice Mastery.
