Overview

Your archetype is arguably the most important choice you make while creating a hero or a villain. It determines which powers are—and aren't—available for you to use during the entire lifetime of your character. The decision of which archetype to play should be made based on what type of philosophy you wish to use for your character.

Hero Archetypes

When you first make a character as a hero, you may select one of five available archetypes.

Archetypeicon controller.png Controller
Archetypeicon defender.png Defender
Archetypeicon scrapper.png Scrapper
Archetypeicon tanker.png Tanker

After a Hero character reaches level 20, two more archetypes become available for heroes.

After a Villain character reaches level 20, two more archetypes become available for villains.
