Sixth Year Anniversary Event and Issue 17 Live

City of Heroes is celebrating is sixth birthday with a bunch of nice presents for the community.

  • Festivities began on April 26th and 27th with in-game events with the devs, followed by a meet-and-greet on April 28.
  • Issue 17: Dark Mirror is live as of April 28.
  • The Six Year Anniversary badge will be granted to all characters that log in between 11am EST on Saturday, May 1st, 2010 through 11:59pm EST on Monday, May 31st.
  • Community members are invited to participate in the Declare Your Loyalty contest, which runs through May 14.

Issue 17 Open Beta

The Open Beta for Issue 17: Dark Mirror has now started!

Experience the many thrills coming with the next city of Heroes® content update before it hits the live servers. Crank up the graphics with Ultra Mode, experience brand new story arcs, revisit your characters thanks to even more costume options, and more!

To check out the Open Beta, all you need to do is log into the North American or European Training Room!

Issue 17 Closed Beta

Get your testing caps on, because Issue 17: Dark Mirror (including Ultra Mode!) goes into Closed Beta on March 2, 2010! This means the Training Room will be inaccessible unless you have been invited to test out the new issue. Eventually, testing will advance to Open Beta, which allows any player to poke at the shiny new stuff.

Free Server Transfers Extended Again!

Due to the success of the free Server Transfers the past two months, and the upcoming Double XP/reactivation weekend, they've pushed the end date back by a week. The new extension ends March 7, 2010 (midnight Pacific, 3am Eastern, 8am GMT).

If you thought you were going to have to carefully plan your last few transfers for the Double XP and Reactivation Weekend, they're making it a whole load easier for you!
