Overbrook Dam

Overview

The Overbrook Dam is a neighborhood and landmark found in the Hero City Zone Faultline. It consists of the dam interior and the reservoir beyond. The interior is housed within the Faultline Utility Company building. The reservoir can be reached through this building and also via the Arachnos Dig Site. The dam features prominently in the Positron Task Force.

Background

The Overbrook Dam is, along with the Terra Volta Reactor, a crucial energy provider for Paragon City and a frequent target for villains intent on disrupting the city. When officials were looking to phase out the aging reactor, the dam was chosen to be retrofitted with the latest in hydroelectric generation technology. Despite the completion of this work, the damage the dam suffered during the Rikti War and later the Faultline Incident necessitated keeping the reactor running while the dam languished for years in disrepair. With the construction of New Overbrook the dam was brought back online, but strange seismic activity on the moon caused the Dam to rupture, flooding the zone. Freedom Corps was brought in to assess and shore up the Dam, and it is now under Longbow protection.

Historical

The reservoir beyond the Overbrook Dam was inaccessible prior to the Faultline zone revamp in Issue 8. It was originally planned for use in the unimplemented Faultline Trial.
