Night Ward Plaques
Overview
Throughout Night Ward there are several plaques detailing the history of the zone. They do not currently have an associated History Badge, but their locations correlate to similar plaques in First Ward.
Plaques
Libethra Theater
Location: (-1148, 32, -3229) In front of the theater in the Lamplight Junction neighborhood
Libethra Theater
It has long been curtains for First Ward's Orpheus Theater, but do not lose heart for in Night Ward the show must go on! Among the performances here you might witness Malaise - my luminary child playing out his cruel, dreamlike fancies upon less fortunate beings. I must however warn you, dear tourist, of Malaise's tendency to pick spectators out of his audience to join him onstage. If you find yourself among his chosen you may just die of fright, and I of laughter. The line between comedy and tragedy is thin in Night Ward.
Midnighter Plaza
Location: (1797.4, 48.5, -2141.5) At the entrance to the hedge maze in the Arcane Quarter neighborhood
Midnighter Plaza
When Emperor Cole ordered the witch hunts against renegade sorcerers unwilling to swear fealty to him, the Midnight Squad transported their stately mansion to the newly discovered realm between worlds known as Night Ward. Concealment spells were quickly put in place around the mansion rendering it imperceptible by Cole's witch hunters. As a final line of defense the Midnighters erected the mystical hedge maze that stands before you. I have watched as many a foolish creature attempted to solve the maze only to be tricked and thwarted to the point of insanity. So now it appears, dear tourist, as though it is your turn to test one's mettle. Are you in alliance with those inside, or will you become lost in the ether like so many others along the way?
A Bridge to Nowhere
Location: (-1759, 24, -1011) In the rubble of the bridge between Lamplight Junction and The Digs neighborhoods
A Bridge to Nowhere
The men and women who lost their lives during the onslaught of Hamidon took comfort in believing that they were going to a better place. That might have been true had that same onslaught not taken out the Houkwald Bridge. The poor souls who found themselves on the south bank of this river will forever remain there, with the CTA building just beyond reach. A pity since the deceased cannot cross moving water. Now ask yourself, tourist, was it mere coincidence that the forces responsible for the deaths of thousands could have knowingly done away with their only means out of Night Ward? Perhaps some truths are best left unspoken.
Lichgate
Location: (-2314, 83, -274) On the wall of the gate nearest the church in The Digs neighborhood
Lichgate
First Ward's Mercyview Cemetery has in Night Ward become a hub of bustling activity for the Drudges. All night long they toil - and the night never ends in Night Ward. The souls freed from the graves here are beholden to their Drudge releasers. Only by the shedding some of their light are the dead ferried to the other side. Unbeknownst to both parties the only exit has been sealed, and with it, their doom. Still, like all good exchanges the Drudges continue to toil and the dead hold onto hope. But it is only a matter of time, for all things are eventual in Night Ward.
Bedlam
Location: (2113, 199, 2639) On the right wall at the entrance to the Bedlam neighborhood
Bedlam
A rose by any other name, but this is the one the Drudges have given to me. If I were to have ever had a birthplace this would be it. The fabric between worlds is thin on these grounds, and continues growing thinner with each passing soul. There's something about the eternal night that attracts those who have lost their way and I am more than happy to welcome them in. As for those wanting to again leave, well... misery loves company.
