Overview
The Archetype is the most fundamental choice made while creating a character. It determines which powers are - and aren't - available for the lifetime of the character. Archetype, along with Origin, Primary Power Sets and Secondary Power Sets, cannot be changed after character creation.
Each archetype will play slightly different than all other archetypes, even archetypes that utilize the same power sets. More information on an archetype's "style" can be found on each archetype page.
Archetypes
The following fifteen Archetypes are all available at character creation.
Standard Archetypes
Epic Archetypes
Main Article: Epic Archetypes
These Epic Archetypes are more complex than standard Archetypes and are intended for experienced players. They are restricted in their starting alignments, but can change alignments later.
Hero Epic Archetypes (HEAT)
Villain Epic Archetypes (VEAT)
Praetorian Archetypes
All Archetypes except the Epic Archetypes are eligible to begin in Praetoria.
Cancelled Archetypes
The following Epic Archetypes were cancelled during their development phase, and thus were never released:
Historical
