Mission:No More Fears - Part Two: Responsibility
Part Two: Responsibility
Briefing
The safest thing to do in this situation would be to stop the charity event. The Vahzilok clearly want to launch a major attack on it.
But the people left over from Galaxy need this event, Character. We have to make sure this goes off without a hitch.
The remaining PPD are going to do their best to play security, but we need everyone on our side. I think the manager of the theater might be able to help.
- What do you mean?
The theater manager, a woman named Victoria Manuel, is a retired hero. Well, 'retired' is a strong word. She's barely in her thirties, but she gave up on the whole hero gig.
I'd see if you can talk to her and convince her to help us out while also trying to run the charity event. The more people we have helping us out, the better.
I'm going to try to see if I can find any clues as to why the Vahzilok would want to target these people specifically and who might be behind all of this.
Speak with Victoria Manuel
Unnecessary Soliciation
I've got nothing yet here, Character. How about you?
Mission Objective(s)
- Speak with Victoria Manuel
Hello there! Pleasure to meet you, Character, correct? Name's Victoria Manuel, but you can call me Vicky.
That little darling of a man, Officer Fields, told me that the little brats in the Vahzilok are up to no good, hurm?
- That's right. They're targeting people attending your event.
How annoying! You try to run one little event in this place and you get mad scientists trying to use the audience as body parts.
Well, I'm sure a fine man like yourself can handle a few men with meat cleavers, hmm? I'd especially hope so, given that I've heard some of the people on my list have gone missing!
I'm just so busy at the moment, I can't imagine trying to juggle all of this!
- I know you used to be a hero. You can do something to help with this.
- Eh? Oh, no, I gave up my mantle a while ago, sweetie. It's too late for me to pick that back up again.
- I'm flattered you think that, though. I think you and I should split up on this, hrm? I'll handle the charity here, and you can handle the group of Vahzilok that seem to be encroaching on the event.
- Oh, that's right, I forgot to mention that. I just received a message that the PPD have spotted a group of them nearby. I'd love it if you could handle them. Ta!
- ... Right.
Victoria Manuel's DeclineYou asked Victoria Manuel to help you with the Vahzilok problem, but she declined, saying that you would be better off handling the situation.
- Don't worry. I'll handle this, you focus on the charity event.
- You're the best hun. I could help you a bit.
- I just got a message from the PPD that a group of those Vahzilok were seen nearby. I'm betting they must be planning on attacking my little event!
- Here, let me show you where they are. If I were you, I'd really go over and put the stop on them. Meanwhile, I'll see about getting this event of mine underway.
- I'll handle it.
Push back the Vahzilok
Unnecessary Soliciation
They're already near the theater?! That's faster than I thought. You have to take care of the Vahzilok, Character!
Mission Objective(s)
- Push back the Vahzilok near Victoria Manuel's theater
- Defeat 10 Vahzilok
You stopped the Vahzilok and found a clue about their plans!
Enemies
After fighting with the Vahzilok in the streets of Paragon, you discovered one of them had a hand-written note from Dr. Vahzilok himself...
'Botte will be the first to be tested. Those who have survived the Galaxy Incident will have, undoubtedly, been exposed in some way to the Shivans or to the meteors.
We must see what effects this can have on the human person, and if possible, how it can be used to improve our current procedures. Report everything you find to Botte.
Dr. Vahzilok.'
Debriefing
Good to see you made it back in one piece, Character. What did you find?
Whoa, a note from Dr. Vahzilok himself! And what's this about Botte?! Larry Botte is dead! Unless... his brother Joseph! This is getting crazier by the minute.
On the one hand, at least Dr. Vahzilok's goal isn't a moustache-twirling plot to destroy the charity event. On the other hand, he seems to be putting his own 'scientific' goals above the well-being of those people!
