A Compromising Photograph
Alignment Mission
As you traverse the endless streets and alleyways that make up Paragon City, you find a picture of sorts taped up to an alleyway's wall. Taking a second look, you find that it's a picture of you holding what seems to be bags of money. While you're running away from a bank. And with a wicked smile on you face. Turning the picture over, you find a message... to you:
If you don't want Longbow seeing more of these photos, you'll help them on an upcoming raid.
Skipping to the bottom, you see the 'M' you were sure would be there - Manticore's signature.
HERO: Read the rest of the 'suggestion'.
Briefing
Looks like if you don't take this seriously, you're going to be in a world of hurt to say the least. It's in your best interests for Longbow to not go sifting through your past too deeply. And as much as you don't like the 'friendly reminder' that Manticore gave you, your only other alternative would be to high-tail it back to the Rogue Isles... and never return.
- Follow Manticore's instructions... Reluctantly.
The assignment seems simple enough. You are to sneak in through the back and disable the primary security system. Details have been shown what it looks like, and it seems simple enough - just push the big red button that has the words 'Don't Push' on it. You've always been curious about those kinds of buttons...
Unnecessary Solicitation
Manticore's threat is not something to be taken lightly. The assignment seems simple enough. You are to to sneak in through the back and disable the primary security system. Details have been shown what it looks like, and it seems simple enough - just push the big red button that has the words 'Don't Push' on it. You've always been curious about those kinds of buttons...
Mission Objective(s)
Now that you think of it... they only told you that you had to disable the system, not specifically push the button. If you're going to be forced into helping Longbow, why not blow whole damned thing up? Plus... there's something odd about that 'DON'T PUSH' button...
- Push that button...
- Find and defeat the Warriors' rearguard
- Destroy the security system
- Open the safe before the heroes notice you're gone
- Find Big Brutus before the heroes all get killed!
You managed to defeat Big Brutus and saved all the heroes. You might want to let the rest of Longbow clean up the place and wake up those sleeping beauties.
Enemies
Notable NPCs
- Warrior Rearguard (Warriors Slasher Elite) (Enemy)
- Big Brutus (Warriors Slasher Elite) (Enemy)
This is the key to the safe with all the cash. The cash you weren't told about. The cash that no one suspects you would be involved in the theft of it if it mysteriously went missing. You know... while you were disabling the security system.
You have destroyed the gas tank with the payload for the security system. This should buy you enough time to get to that safe before the heroes finish doing their job.
You look at the receipt and see a number of notes that shows how to rig it so that it spreads a poison gas if turned off. If any damage happens to the system, though, it will release a sleeping gas automatically throughout the building. Wait! It was a trap from the beginning! Those Longbow guys may not have been killed due to your passive-aggressive actions, but they've been knocked out and are completely defenseless!
Debriefing
After much congratulations on part of Longbow, you come to the conclusion that Manticore held up his end of the bargain and didn't turn in the evidence. For the time being, you're in the clear.
However...
While running around Paragon, you come across a picture taped to the wall of you opening the Warriors' safe and pocketing the cash...
