Command Line Parameter

-uiskin [0-2]

Sets your preferred login theme with launch parameters.

0 = City of Heroes login screen
1 = City of Villains login screen
2 = Going Rogue login screen

This command is actually a command line parameter to be used on the command string to launch the game. To use it follow these instructions:

  1. Open up the COH Launcher and click Settings --> Homecoming.
  2. In the "Extra Launch Parameters" box type
  • -cov or -uiskin 1 for the City of Villains login screen,
  • -uiskin 2 for the Going Rogue login screen, and
  • leave the box blank, or use -uiskin 0 if you want the City of Heroes login screen.
  • Although this command can technically work as a slash command, if used while in game it will only show the desired splash screen once if you zone. Afterward, the command resets the login screen UI to the corresponding character's alignment (hero, villain, rogue).
  • Further, whenever you log out of a character and return to the select screen, it uses the alignment of the character you logged out of to set the UI of the login screen.
  • Dev Note: // Praetorian UI skin only works in Praetoria proper because it makes the currency be "Information" and so on.
  • The dev note above is correct, however if you also use /uiskin 2 in game while your character is already in Praetoria, the skin will "work".

Example

-uiskin 2
