Mission:Destroying the Destroyers - Part Four: Destroyer Stand Off
Part Four: Destroyer Stand Off
Briefing
Things are escalating very quickly, Character. It's all becoming very exciting, I have to tell you! So, I've arranged for a full report to be given to TPN about the Destroyers. But, um, so I think Duncan is well aware of what we would plan to do with this information. Well, to be specific, she's aware of what someone is going to do with this information. She isn't aware of who has it. Or, uhm, maybe she is. I don't know. But I'm betting that she isn't gonna be able to make a move directly on you, given you're basically in with Praetor White.
Point being is that from what Mr. G has told me, there is a horde of one hundred Destroyers making their way to TPN through the tunnels. They're looking to take down TPN before the news can get out about Praetor Duncan! But see, Character, this is PERFECT! I've got everything set up for you!
- How is this perfect, exactly?
First off, here. You can use these.
Tami hands you a bag of... grenades?
Secondly, what's happening right now is that TPN is preparing to film you holding off the Destroyers horde. This is going to be HUGE, Character. This will go down in the history of Praetoria, no one will ever forget this! You'll need to get to the TPN campus right away and get yourself ready for a fight!
Members of the Resistance working undercover for Calvin Scott should inform him of what is happening.
Targeted Area of Effect, Moderate Damage (Lethal/Smash), Minor Damage over Time (Fire)
This grenade is built from stolen Resistance munitions. It should send an effective message.
6 uses left.
Expires in 30:00 of in-game time.
Defend TPN from the Destroyer Horde
Unnecessary Solicitation
I'll be waiting eagerly, Character!
Mission Objective(s)
It looks like there are some Destroyers already on the scene. You'll have to hurry to get things started.
- Defend TPN from the Destroyer Horde
- Speak with John Houston
You've handled the Destroyers' last push to kill you and destroy TPN. Time to settle things with Praetor Duncan.
Character! John Houston, TPN, let me just say, it's an honor to see you here, ready to fight the TPN horde! We've got our cameras ready to roll. Just say the word! I, of course, will be up in our building, watching and commenting as you wade through the horde!
- Alright, start filming
Alright, I'll give the word!
- Leave
Enemies
Notable NPCs

John Houston will make a comment for every 20 Destroyers defeated:
Meet with Praetor Duncan
Unnecessary Solicitation
The report on TPN was huge, Character, huge! Now it's just time to settle things with Praetor Duncan, then we can call it a day!
Mission Objective(s)
- Meet with Praetor Duncan
Well, well, big bad Character. The man / woman responsible for crippling the Destroyers, for saving TPN, and revealing my dirty little secret. I have to give you credit, Character. I thought you were going to be dumb enough to try to put Praetor White down instead of investigating further. Just goes to show that I underestimated you.
- Cole is still keeping you around, after all that?
Praetor Duncan grins coyly.
When I explained how things really went, everything was fine. You see, Character Praetor Keyes was kind enough to reveal the truth of the matter, that he was the one who was behind this whole mess with the Destroyers. I, of course, was just an innocent bystander. Keyes was so willing to help me out of this little jam, you should've seen him!
Of course, I didn't get off so easily, little Marcus told me I couldn't play with my Destroyers anymore, so there goes that whole bit of fun. And Praetor White told me not to lay a hand on you, or else he'd get involved. Isn't that just awful?
- So you used Praetor Keyes to get yourself out of this situation
I did. Of course, you know the truth, don't you? That's why the people of Imperial love you now. But I know your type, Character. I know that you're not out to save the people here in Praetoria. I know that deep down inside, you look out for number one. It's why I can understand you. Hehe! We're both the same, you know, just looking to get ourselves some fun and power. You did good today, but how many times have you hurt others to make yourself look good? I've done it plenty more times than you, trust me.
But at the end of the day, it's all about the image that the people have of you. If no one knows you killed twenty people to save one important person, who cares? Isn't that right? So don't try to act as if I'm the bad guy in this situation. You're just as rotten to the core as I am.
- Maybe I am. But today I won, and you lost.
- Praetor Duncan laughs, putting a hand to her chest.
- For today, Character. Just for today. I'll be interested in seeing where you go from here. Maybe you'll become a Praetor one day, or maybe you'll even become more powerful than Marcus himself. Though, that would require something... extraordinary, given Marcus' whole little Incarnate powers. But you should know this, Character.
- When I get the chance, when you don't have Praetor White and the public on your side, I will make my move to kill you.
- I'll be ready, trust me. Pleasure talking with you, Duncan.
- I'm nothing like you, Duncan. One day, I'll make sure you don't get away.
- Oh, tough words, Character, tough words! Maybe you're under the delusion that what you're doing is all good, is that it? A little person who makes his / her own crimes to look good cleaning them up?
- Let's just say this, Character. I'll be looking forward to the day that you try to put me down for good. Because on that day, I'll make sure you're killed, just like all the other trash here in Praetoria.
- I wouldn't count on that, Duncan. Goodbye, for now.
Debriefing
This was all simply amazing, Character, simply amazing. TPN is running videos of you fighting the Destroyers non-stop. John Houston is giving commentary on the various moves you pulled off in the battle, and the people of Imperial City believe you to be an unstoppable force that they can all rely on. All in all, I say things turned out for the best! The Destroyers still linger in Nova and Imperial, but without their main stash of Fixadine, they will eventually die out. They're certainly not going to become any more powerful than they currently are.
All of this has gotten the attention of Praetor Sinclair. You see, he's in a bit of, um, a bit of a jam. And given how you took Praetor Duncan down a few pegs, he requested that I send you to meet him right away.
